I remember somehow along the way when watching this anime that not only did I get completely engrossed and lose an entire day to watching the whole thing, I also caught feelings in my cold, black, cynical heart. It put me on the path towards vanilla.

Are there LNs or something that explain a bit more of the plot though? From what I understand, "Blessings" and the Hero are very much fake, they're more like sci-fi based on the technology they discovered that can control Blessings and also a bunch of spare Hero blades. The entire world is 100% some sort of setup, do LNs explain the rest of it?

Reminder that they not only marry (formally in a big ceremony too), Rit gets pregnant and has a son with Gideon. Canon, 100%. Ruti and Yarandrala lose (Yarandrala loans them her ship so Gideon, Rit, and their son can sail around to meet Rit's in-laws in the final LN).
