I was worried they were going to end the episode without having them learn who each other's siblings were, which would have made the whole thing tiresome in the long run, but I'm glad I was wrong. It's a shame we didn't get to see Poem interact with Sakuradaimon's sister. I hope we get to see her visiting his home in a future episode. I enjoyed the first half a lot more though. Akina's crush on Izubuchi is adorable and her reactions are a lot of fun, same with the way the group teases each other when it comes to love. I wasn't expecting this to become my favorite show this season, but it is up there for sure next to Nippon Sangoku.

Unexpectedly cute and fun show. Twintails is a horny dork, I love her. Basically all the girls in the show are great and I love how the whole direction is about contrasting the seemingly hardcore manly guys with them, it lends itself great to comedy. Honestly anime seems to be struggling and succeeding in its struggle, there has been a tangible uptick of anime with a healthy dosage of ecchi and just plain old fun like in the good old days. This is no exception, it's reminiscent of old shows I liked. As an older guy I made peace with the fact CEL anime of the 80s/90s is my definition of anime itself but it's also true that after a seeming decline there's lots of new energy in anime lately, they seem to have realized that they need to ignore Western and especially American moralfag bitching and just do things like they've always done them - because that's why people were drawn to anime and why we all got hooked on it. I'm actually really glad that shows like this one are being made again because the zoomers and younger are finally getting a proper taste of what anime actually is. Seriously, there has been quite a few shows I enjoyed lately. Medalist, Frieren, Kaya chan, now Ponkotsu... it's clear that the industry is in a kind of upswing precisely because they returned to their own traditions and roots with new energy. Also there's delicious sweaty JK feet. Can't go wrong with that.
