>>287890704More like ripping your stolen content for another website to host the stole content and make money out of it.
>>287888775The time of a pirate site turning legit is long past. Back in the days of CR or Fakku digital distribution was still in its infancy. Now all the Japanese companies have their own solutions that they adapt to the global market, whether they are publishers or ebook store operators. They have nothing to gain from teaming up with Mangadex since the people using Mangadex aren't interested in official sites.
>>287890721Buy digital and you can get manga for under $1.
>>287890690There are none. Some amount of what's translated is just scans of the Dark Horse translation from forever ago. After that it's fan translations, which I doubt are censored, but I remember at least one full volume's translation being garbage. Nobody has gone back and did a good translation from the beginning. >>287890721Well if you buy translated and live in the US you don't have to worry about shipping, though it is more expensive (hence why I went with $10 and not the cheaper price you pay in Japan). For buying raws it depends on where you buy. Though I typically buy ~$70 worth of manga at a time because that gets you free shipping on the site I usually use. $70 is still very low for a month's worth of rent though. You could always buy digitally and you wouldn't have to worry about shipping.

It's really no different than building any other computer, you just need to know what you need and what you don't need compared to something like a gaming computer. The biggest issue I had was that I initially got faulty hard drives, which I had to return. The price is probably an issue now though with the price hikes for at least RAM, if not HDDs. The ram I bought for $50 for this computer was at like $200 the last time I checked.

>>287891845The best time to do that was over a year ago. Even if RAM prices are recovering very slowly, hard disk prices are still fucked. For just a NAS it's really as simple as getting an old PC, giving it a fast SSD as boot disk and a couple of big storage disks, installing TrueNAS on the SSD and configuring the storage disks into a storage pool. It doesn't need any sort of impressive specs performance-wise, You can get away with even a 2-core CPU, but I would suggest getting at least 16GB of RAM.Personally I'm also new to these things. I just watched a few step-by-step tutorials on Youtube. There are a ton of them. Mine has a Ryzen 3600 with 32GB RAM as that was my previous system. I installed Proxmox as the OS because I wanted to do some other things with it than just storage, and I have TrueNAS running inside of a VM in there. A year ago I could buy 4 good 16TB hard drives for just a few hundred, but now just one costs over 500 bucks. I fear the day that it gives me a drive error and I have to replace one of them.

Hopefully a solid alternative that most people can agree on shows up before md gets any worse.>>287893766Fair enough and cool of DLsite to do. >>287893917I don't see poverty as a legitimate reason.
>>287893917I don't think a solution will be up before mangadex kicks the bucket, I think one of the reasons weebdex chose to throw the towel in was because people just didn't use it. Except for a few manga that weren't posted on mangadex, the place was basically dead. Because it supports the artist even if it means you are experiencing the media for the first time and don't even know if you'll like it first? Or because it would be illegal not do so? If it's the first then could you say you are actually supporting said artist with the digital subscription you most likely are using? Or if you actually buy the physical media, do you think it's reasonable to pay a premium for every piece of media you consume? If you do something out of fear of breaking the law, then you don't have a moral ground against people who break the law. You simply hate that they do what you can get punished for. And arguing that otherwise would hurt the artist, is ignoring the evidence that at worst the subject is too complex to simply say it's true. Even if you are a hardcore moralfag that only wants to walk the path of justice, is it fair if the very legal way is designed to fill the pockets of distributors while paying pennies to the artist you are supposedly protecting with your laws created by the exploiting publishers? If there's anything I've learned with the latest xitter scandal regarding piracy, is that the nips only hate piracy because it's what they are supposed to do, just another example of the nail that sticks gets hammered down, even if privately they all wish to do or do it already.

Seems pretty clear that this change is just to "encourage" account creation. Either that or the site is just spaghetti, since the change doesn't really do anything to stop scrapers, unless they're just incredibly poorly made. No changes happend for the API, so you can keep requesting there like normal, and even if you're scraping the front end you can just set your bot to clear cookies every 10 chapters, which shouldn't be an issue for even a poorly skilled programmer. If they wanted to stop or slow frontend scraping from ai bots as claimed, they could've just implemented some kind of captcha like every other website, but instead they chose a solution that specifically negatively affects actual readers and points them to make an account. Only reasonable conclusion to come to is that the programmers are out of their depth and didnt do enough research before implementing a solution (seems unlikely for a website that's been going for almost a decade), or they just want to bolster user numbers for some reason (ads, negotioations, etc.).

>>287908581FanTLs of most manga often don't end up on Nyaa at all, as opposed to official rips where most do show up on Nyaa. Torrent wise AB is better for fanTLs, but particularly only once a series is finished.

>>287907615Official sources aren't hard to find at all. Finding translations is impossible since they don't exist.
>>287908826NTA.>Official sources aren't hard to find at all.Only for stuff like Once Piece and Frieren, for anything else you need to use a nip VPN because they IP block everything outside nipland.
>>287909007Stop lying.

>this isn't just mangadex kuso thread but "piracy bad" kuso daily general
>>287908581Only for finished manga. Ongoing manga needs a mangadex-like website
