It's funny when you look up fix-it doujins or western fanfics about part 2, because even when the writers are sincerely trying to make the writing less miserable, it still sucks. It's still dour, no-fun-allowed, boring misery porn where nothing happens until the plot arbitrarily decides to have everything suddenly happen at once. There's no saving Asa being a boring stick in the mud non-heroine without completely rewriting her from scratch into being someone entirely different. There's no meaningful salvaging of the tepid will-they-wont-they tsundere triangle between Denji, Asa, and Yoru for the same reason. I have yet to find a single effort at making the PS/cultist/CSM conflict not boring and anti-fun as fuck because of how bad the premise is at its core. When these fanworks start in part 1 then lead into part 2, they drop off a cliff because there's no material to work with while conforming to the story of the source. It just can't be done. IMO you'd have to rewrite so much about part 2 to salvage it that it'd be a completely different manga. Which is to say, part 2 is unsalvageable. It's like trying to salvage the storyline of GOT Season 8. Best of luck to you on this impossible task because you're set up for failure. The only solution is memoryholing it like GOT got memoryholed after season 4.
