>Makes the best isekai in more than a decade>Cancelled after 8 episodes I can´t even... why?
>ChineseNot anime or manga
>makes retarded claim to shill his chinkshit>doesn't elaborate
>>287910342I too find troubling that some Chink donghua is better than the isekai Japan is producing right now but that doesn´t change that it´s the truth.
>>287910580>is better than the isekaiSay that again, please.
>>287910262Oh, I read this years ago. After like 400 chapters I just couldn't care anymore. I think it's in the 1000s now.
>>287910805Apparently the donghua was meant to adapt the light novel rather than the manhua so art style, tone and focus are completely different. The donghua looks serious enough with no Overpowered protagonist, no harem or moe or anything of that. It´s a good refreshing premise to see that the only tools the MC has to deal with his situation is the knowledge he has from our world. Now tell me that´s not the most interesting an isekai has been in years?
>>287910262only decent chinkshit was Please take away my brother, and I'm quite sure the japs embellished the original a lot to actually make it funny
>>287910262At least it got 8 episodes of faithful-to-the-source-material 2D animation. Meanwhile Sword of Dawn got such a shitty unrelated mobile game promo wearing SoD's skin, lazy 3D animation that they ended up having to change that donghua's title so it doesn't end up ruining SoD brand value. They turned the main cast into constant jobbers, added random meta video game elements into the story (WTF?!) and completely replaced the background story of the entire main cast, too. I am not sure if I have ever seen a worse """"adaptation"""" in my life. I'd even "prefer" (or at least detest less) TBATE's adaptation disaster over this in 10 out of 10 cases. So just fucking shut up. You should be glad you got the 8 faithful episodes as they are and might even have an existing, albeit extremely tiny chance, of a continuation at some point. Be happy about that.On that note, I enjoyed RtW as well, but SoD is just way better as a nation building story. RtW does everything too top down, the Messiah Roland just brings civilization to the unenlightened masses by regurgitating his past life's knowledge. Meanwhile Gawain in SoD actually needs to foster scientific research without being able to know the solutions in advance because of changed laws of physics and the supposed "unenlightened masses" can actually think and develop for themselves and can bring about great prosperity on their own merit.
>>287910262The Chinese cartoon industry seems a lot wilder and more chaotic compared to the Japanese one. Japanese wouldn't put own money and do the work without publishers contracting and bankrolling them first. It was apparently completed in 2022 and then released only because Crunchyroll buys everything. Could it be they'll even fund S2?Sad it ended right before winter started.
>>287911350To be honest most of chink stuff that gets adapted end up just like that. The shitty CGI ruins even those with potential preemptively since it looks awful 99% of the time. >>287912030Being inconsistent it´s probably worse than being consistently shit... Japan releases plenty of filler tier isekai almost every season but even if those are shit you at least know to expect shitty quality for 12 episodes and then never hear of it again. That´s probably better than 8 episodes and a cliffhanger...
>>287912290>To be honest most of chink stuff that gets adapted end up just like that. The shitty CGI ruins even those with potential preemptively since it looks awful 99% of the time.Eh, I actually ended up quite liking the Doluo Dalu CGI adaptation. The special effects were rather bad and the models are likewise not good (to me it looked pretty good because right before that I watched the Tales of Demons and Gods C(lay)GI-donghua and it utterly atrocious clay-like models so DD looked outright godly in comparison back then), but the slow-motion close-quarters-combat scenes were actually pretty good up to where I have seen it, though it also helps that it was overall a much more faithful adaptation than the complete trash that was the manhwa. On that note, one of the most famous chinese isekai WNs, The Legendary Mechanic, is also getting a CGI donghua.
I can't deal with chinese language and VAtoo off-putting. But that's on meI liked it enough to read the LNIt's a solid story. Maybe a lil generic but this is an isekai so it's to be expected. It is thorough in the development and industrialization, magic is not the be all end all tier power (at least as far as I've read, which is 1000th chapter out of 1500)The manga[or w/e term that refers to chinkshit] is garbage i would not recommend anyone. If you do like isekai and not an OP MC give the LN a shotToo bad this board won't even register this one, queue in the 1000th mushoku tensei shitflinging thread
>>287911142why do you think it got cancelled? the company and the adaptation were being funded by tencent, and they demanded the series reflect the manhua instead of the novel, and when studio refused because work was already well past production stage preparations, they cut the funding, so it went from planned 24 ep to 16 ep then 12 ep then ended on just 8 ep due to money running out and the series being deplatformed in China (it was not allowed to air there).
>>287913475>The manga[or w/e term that refers to chinkshit] is garbage i would not recommend anyone.>>287913542I know, when i learned of the cancellation my first instinct was to move to the manhua, no big deal right? Wrong. That´s unreadable and the art is crap. I find it funny that Tencent intention was to adapt that instead since i believe those that got hooked by the donghua would have probably just skipped that entirely.
Well, in case anybody wants to read the completed webnovel translation. https://files.catbox.moe/7qe5vq.epub
>>287910262>china slopnot /a/, not anime, get the fuck off my board
>>287915540Normally i´d agree a 100% and be right there with you instead of making this thread but we must accept anime is currently in crisis. The fact that release that witch is better than all those mid budget isekai we get every season is proof of this and should be a wake up call. If the anime industry doesn´t get it´s shit together and go back to producing the somewhat mature anime that made it stand out internationally the industry is going to lose ground to China and even Korea and i don´t just mean on this board. Heck, they may even lose ground to those streaming platform founded ones... stuff like Suicide Squad isekai, Edge Runners and Lazarus are slowly refining their aim to get into their market. If they don´t get their shit together those fuckers will eventually succeed.
>>287915540inb4 >"i-it doesn't count b-because it... j-just doesn't!"
Fuck off
>>287915540yeah better have 3 different bait SnK threads to stir up the same old rehashed shit, or the [not]general CSM threads with nothing but schizoids and larpers, instead of a thread about something new and innocuous for onceIt's not like OP is proclaming "anime is dead, le based CHIna won">>287916118that's the best you got?
>>287913542Honestly that is on Tencent. Even an adaptation that diverges from the 'source material' (even if in this case the manhua wasn't the actual source), will still drive sales an attention to it. If they wanted to sell more copies of the manhua a good cartoon adaptation of any sort would still do it.
>>287918290they wanted more of that typical garbage silly chinese humour that manhua have, and the anime was more serious in tone and more faithful to the worldbuilding/nationbuilding vibe that the light novel had. no weird sexual jokes, no pussified MC, etc.
>>287910262The animation looks good but I can't be bothered with a chinese dub.
the main downside of these pretty good chinese animation is the voice acting. chinese is just atrocious to hear and doesn't even remotely correspond with what you are reading on screen, whether it be names, titles, sentence length, etc. it's just really incompatible with subs and western sensibilities. Japanese or Korean isn't any better but a lot more people are used to it at least now.
>>287919033for example the chinese animation adaptation of the manhwa version of who made me a princess last summer had a japanese dub that was infinitely more enjoyable than the chinese dub.
