The true aim is not to remake everything anyway, it's to create a new on ramp for new fans, if they can retain a decent amount onto the Toei version or the manga itself it's a success.

>>287924453No sense in a 1:1 adaptation, the only sensible solution is to do a faithful adaptation that seeks to fix the issues that a 30 year old continous show has. And yes, that means things like more consistent foreshadowing etc. I know people here hate it, but the Live Action feels like a test run in that sense and I'm hoping they'd make some similar changes (of course without cutting stuff like Hachi or Jango) meaning they could put in more obvious hints and foreshadowing for things like Nika or other larger later reveals. While it may have been too early, I do like how the Live Action ultimately handled the Garp thing. Not saying they should do the same and reveal him in Arlong Park, but they could add in some more hints. Similarly, Haki, while being referenced constantly throughout the series starting from East Blue, should also be more obvious, to the point the audiences can clearly tell there's SOME power (or "trick", as Krieg called) being used by the characters. Other than these I'm mostly looking forward to a filler free, cohesive whole that is paced well, even if it's "just" that, I'll be happy. The story deserves a good anime adaptation, finally.

Pre Mihawk vs zoro from old piece was 23 episodes so they technically only manage to cut it down by 9 episodes.Like i said, the arc that deserved a remake are post timeskip arcs from fishman to wholecake.

I don't get why people think this will be a full re-adaptation. It'll probably just be two seasons covering East Blue. MAYBE four more 7-episode~ seasons covering Alabasta and Skypeia, but I don't see them covering say, all of pre-TS or anything post-TS.More likely is just Toei doing more Special Edited Versions a la FMI for materials already in HD that they still have their internal original materials for, and this is for multiple reasons (namely that Wit isn't a studio equipped to adapt a 1000+ chapter manga).
