Lately, even with that super awesome one, the director's been going around in interviews at various spots, denying romance for each pairing in a way that's all "no" on the love front, but explicitly stating friendship, family love, parental love, and all that, while just hinting and stopping short with the romantic stuff, and then the fans go hyping it up like "It's great that they don't spell it out!"—but then they drop these birthday illustrations that feel all lovey-dovey to reel 'em in, so both the production side and the fans are pretty damn ridiculous, huh... that's what hit me.
