TURDren has a bog standard ayylmao design, is part of a shitty sentai team that makes you long for the days of the Ginyu Force, and a dull, stoic personality that elicits all the emotional resonance of a block of fucking wood. And to make matters worse, when he does show a glimpse of personality, it's to throw a temper tantrum over losing and trying to kill a bunch of innocent spectators that have nothing to do with his fight with Goku.Jiren is fucking boring as shit. It's an egregious example of writers failing to recognize the "show don't tell" mentality. Let's talk about my favorite series, Dragonball Z. This classic American superhero cartoon stars Goku Williams, a superhero who is the hope of the universe. Driven by kickass music from Bruce Faulconer and Toriyama's favorite badass American rock bands like Linkin Park and Disturbed, mondo cool jokes perfect for 90s tude, and the greatest voice actors ever brought together for any project, Dragonball Z is truly one of the greatest American cartoons of all time. A little-known prequel simply known as Dragonball was made as a silly little comedic sidestory for the kiddies, while Chris Sabat himself went it alone to create Dragonball GT, which even he will admit wasn't quite all it could be but was a suitable conclusion to the saga.Strangely, the little known Japanese dub turned him into a woman and had ridiculously unfitting music that changed the entire feel of the show. Now that we've established the dub's superiority and status as THE definitive and canon product, what are some of your favorite little idiosyncrasies and additions that elevates it far above the shit sub? Besides the already-posted clip of Freeza's native language, I like moments like Yamcha's "cat loves food" gag that add a sense of actual weight and realism to the world. The characters aren't just cardboard cutouts that fight for our amusement. They're living, breathing people who engage in mundane activities like watching television, and they take the time to reference things they encounter during those activities that they find particularly amusing or interesting.Also, the way the dub acknowledges our Lord and Savior Christ is a huge improvement, which was of course added to communicate superior moral values to the children who were of course going to be watching.

Imagine if "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" had been silent during the staredown. It would have been shit. Instead, the perfectly-chosen score sets the tone and delivers tension so fine that most viewers aren't even aware of it until the scene is over and they let out the breath they didn't know they were holding.
