I don't get it
>>287937303what's to get?
>>287937452thinken about genuine
>>287937303he genuinely want's to fuck his teacher
>>287937452everything???what the fuck is something genuine?what does he want to understand?why is yukino being such an ass?why did they even start getting all awkward just because he did a fake confession that was clearly fake?why do they just cry and hug in the rooftop even though no one understands shit of what just happened?
>>287937810Same
>>287937810She should have won.
there were like 2 good characters in this whole show and iroha was 1.5 of them
Iroha is still the most erotic anime girl
>>287937303he wants a piece of that
u need at least 100 iq to understand oregairu
>>287938022she was the only good heroine.
>>287937303Daria but anime
>>287937303I didn't get it either but i attributed it to being autistic and socially retardedI'm starting to think maybe it was actually convoluted and difficult to understand
>>287937303No one does. The writing was shit.
8man is the type of fag that will totally get cucked in college.
>>287937303He's admitting being a sigma male loner fucking sucks regardless of whatever you tell yourself and deep down he wants a real connection even though he knows this is a near impossible task especially for someone like himself. I basically interpreted it as him being frustrated at the human experience and wishing love/friendship were easier and different.
IROHA OR DEATH
>>287937954Read the LN or don’t bother, it’s basically impossible to understand without the context of 8man’s constant stream of consciousness. It was nice to see an attempted adaptation but it’s impossible to faithfully adapt 14 volumes of text in 36 or so episodes
>>287937303funny how the dating market turned out so bad that everyone wants the same thing as him now
>>287937303Been a while since I engaged with OreGairu so I might be rusty on the details. He has gotten so burnt out on the idea of superficial relationships and is extremely paranoid about a romance that may have been the result of "She got close to me out of feeling guilty" with Gahama or "she warmed up to me because I helped her out" like Irohas or Yukino. Those sort of connections would only make him stressed and anxious because they are built on being conditional, "I didn't like you BUT now I do."It was relevant at this point in the story because 8man was being pushed about in different directions. The idea that the group's friendship would dissolve if the club did made him nervous that it wasn't a genuine connection but instead just something that they built out of being forced to cohabitate the club room.I really do not like the direction the final volumes took since they didn't really address that this 8man's desire for "something genuine" is an unhealthy mindset that generally disregards how human relationships are more complicated than just those first impressions though.
>>287939704lol
>>287937303Saika should've won
>>287940903>>287938460patrician
>>287940903Close but no cigar
>>287940966Saika admires & respect Hachiman more than anyone else in the series.
>>287941000I would kill myself if my son were to act like this
>>287941164Scenarios with having kids ranked from best to worst>BestYou have a daughter that grows pure and beautiful and becomes your wife to repay you for all the time, money and effort invested>OkYou have a son who grows up to be a good man and builds his family and stuff making you proud>BadGay son but he still remains exclusively devoted to you and is feminine enough to pass as a wife, can work with some makeup and minor adjustments>Very badGay son who goes on to get fucked by other dudes disgracing you for not being man enough to raise a son properly>WorstDaughter that gets fucked by another man, effectively giving up all the fruits of your hard labor for someone else to pick, ultimate humiliation
>>287937954>why did they even start getting all awkward just because he did a fake confession that was clearly fake?kek, that was weird. I felt totally disconnected from the dramatic fallout that came after.
I still don't get his contrived reason for rejecting Yui for Yukino.>i want something genuine!>yui, did you fall in love with me, or with the fact i saved your dog? btw, i don't know what a crush is, and will ignore the fact that you never really bothered talking to me until you joined the club and will also ignore that we grew closer as a result of these experiences>but me, 8man, meeting yukino in the clubroom which is a totally contrived meeting because we were FORCED by our teacher to be there? genuine? the experiences we had there? genuineLike it sounds nice sure, but if you take a second to analyze this, 8man just ends up sounding like a stupid hypocrite. Fuck man, we don't need this overly intellectual reason or something, just show him remember the first time he saw her smile and that that made him fall in love, less pretentious and he doesn't look dumb.
>>287939947Kudos he understood this in high school. I want something genuine too. I'm tired of faking interactions for the sake of networking and mingling with coworkers.
>>287941394He kept sacrificing himself to solve everyone’s problems because he had a low self-esteem, which the girls didn’t appreciate because they cared about him. The fake confession was the worst one by that point.
>>287941519The confession was fake rendering his "sacrifice" moot.
>>287941434>if you take a second to analyze this, 8man just ends up sounding like a stupid hypocrite.he’s an edgy teenager in YA lit obviously he’s retarded
>>287939914>read the LNand punish myself further? i say nay
>>287941558But it spits in the face of what he stands for. How can you be genuine when you're such an obvious hypocrite? The author isn't a teenager, he should know better. Characters in fiction are interesting precisely because they have characteristics that people their age don't always have.
>>287941394>>287941519>>287941539You're missing the point. Hurting himself is part of it, but the deeper underlying reason is *what* exactly he sacrifices himself for.The story starts with 8man saying stuff like "I'm fine the way I am fuck the normies and their social games", Yukino initially doesn't believe this to be the case, but warms up to the idea and ends up looking up to him through their experiences in S1.Now comes S2 and 8man is going above and beyond to keep the normies's "fake and worthless" relationship from breaking. It's not the sacrifice, it's that he sacrifices to protect something he always rejected and that destroys the respect Yukino built towards him because he's simply being a hypocrite. You could make the argument that Yui is hurt on a more emotional level "I am pained because you hurt yourself" and that's why she doesn't take it that personal, but Yukino feels completely betrayed because his entire image of him crumbled.
>>287941637>The author isn't a teenager, he should know better.have you seen the people on this site? people are using slurs from 2005 and 2015 in lieu of actual wordssome of these people never grow up and it's clear YA/LN ""writers"" in their fucking 30s are channelling their teenage angst into print
>>287942084>Yukino initially doesn't believe this to be the case, but warms up to the ideaSo what was her initial belief? She must have not strongly believed it herself if she looked up to Hachiman after getting to know him.
>>287942220Rewatch their first interaction in S1 episode 1.She believes people *must* be fixed, that's why she gets angry when 8man argues that he's fine the way he is and doesn't need any fixing and that's where the whole contest regarding helping people begins.Remember the thing about Yui asking for help with the cookies? How Yukino was all about making her good at it ("fixing" her problem of sucking at making cookies) while 8man was all about changing the perspective so the issue is no longer seen a problem? (why bother making good cookies if dudes will just be happy if they're homemade with love?).That approach eventually comes back to bite him but it gets the job done in the first half of the story.
