Isn't it funny how most people who watch LOGH root for Reinhard but Yang's death is the one who hits everyone the hardest?

I don't think that's true. People just prefer the Empire because it has better characters, but I think Yang is more popular than Reinhard.

Reuenthal's death hit way harder.
But yes, deaths in LOGH feel real because of how well the characters were established.

>root for Reinhard
I root for Reinhard against the Goldenbaums because merit should trump blood. I root for Yang against the FPA because logic should trump entrenched fools. I root for Trunicht against Cornelia Windsor because the counterinvasion was retarded and directly lead to the collapse of the FPA. I root for Yang over Reinhard because it's engaging seeing the Emperor constantly reattempting the one mountain he could never climb. I root for yellow subs over white because kuroko no galactic heroes isn't as fun as the OVA series.
>>
>>287937638
yang was a retard and deserved to die
>>
>>287937638
cause Reinhard doesn't die.

My retard ass hovered the spoiler. I'm going to kill myself.

Dawg, it's been 29 years.
There's no spoilers at this point.

I'm 22 and only recently started watching older anime.
>>
>>287941086
It's probably better if you're already prepared for it. The show has a history book kind of narration anyway.
>>
>>287941635
it felt nice getting hit by the truck, actually.
>>
>>287941577
My bad, Yang died over 30 years ago.
It's ok Zoomer-Kun, LOGH just gets better as the story unfolds.

You're right about spoilers but no need to insult somebody for actually watching the series, even if it's late. Especially one with 100+ episodes like LOGH.

The one thing that abates the pain is knowing that Julian lands this absolute fucking bombshell tomboy, he is so lucky. As one man falls, another rises. And boy are other things rising as well. Go get it Julian. Let's fucking go.

Perhaps because they were two sides of the same coin? Both wanted to root out corruption in their respective government styles and it just so happened that they were pitched on conflicting sides while trying to do their own main quests. It's just that Reinhard (mostly) succeeded while Yang still had unrealized goals. Arguably, it's because he didn't have the ambition of Reinhard to stomp out corruption, seeing as how he was only a government dog to pay for his education from the start and got tangled up in the politics as his strategies won him recognition and infamy among political rivals.
I know I'm tryharding for a 1pbtid but I think it's the fact that both wanted to look out for their people but Yang had a better grasp of the situation with his historical knowledge but was thwarted before he could truly effect any meaningful changes inside or outside his government's style.

This guy gets it.
>>287943665
Here's to the tomboy girl!
>>
>>287944563
its essentially commentary on secret third powers preventing us from seeing the natural consequence. Neither death was cathartic.
Kircheis once said that he was sure that Yang was frustrated to fight Reinhard with just a single fleet rather than the entire army. Reinhard had nobody to match him, and Yang was unmatched. Reinhard won by his subordinates, Yang denied his own victory. Neither wanted to kill the other, so the third party did it. Its also a good way to have a reason to stop writing the story.
>>
>>287944563
Yang is a cautionary tale, other than charisma he was arguably more skilled than Reinhard but he was stuck in the system that stifled him and he was too much of a lawful goody two shoes to pull a coup that would get rid of the parasites. So, despite all this talent, he dies shot in the leg by some literal who, all his achievements squandered.
>>
>>287939806
>>287939823
I mean, in terms of the "current" situation (as of most of the story), Reinhard would be better for the future of humanity. Long term though? I'd rather Yang's system and ideals.
As for the characters, even putting the 2 mains aside (Yang is better btw), I still prefer the FPA.
>>
>>287944690
Yang argued that his lawful goody two shoes act would benefit humanity long term by setting an example. Though let's be honest its kind of a coinflip whether he'd be right or not.
>>
>>287943168
What's the point if you get spoiled and don't let it happen naturally? It loses all appeal and you aren't shocked when it happens. Don't get me wrong at least op uses spoilers but so many people don't especially when someone said they just started watching it
>>
>>287944836
I understand the frustration, but I don’t necessarily think that shock value is the “end all be all” to making a good story, especially with something like LoGH. If I were you, I would still watch it
>>
>>287943210
If only you were here, Kircheis.

Reunenthal is whinny bitch who desreved to die at this point
