He and his romance with Usagi also aren’t nearly as relevant to the Sailor Moon franchise the way those other Mahou Shoujo make their love stories front and center always, meanwhile Mamoru is frequently shoved into the background and is there just to be kidnap bait to give Usagi and the Senshi motivation to fight. The whole “Miracle Romance” isn’t even that romantic if you think about since it’s all based in destined obligation and assigned roles, it’s really more of a plot-device figurehead romance than an actual true love story.I guess what it comes down to it is Usagi/Mamoru are basically the Goku/Chichi of Mahou Shoujo couples and Shoujo as a whole.
