Japanese media tackling the subject of religion with a degree of nuance? I don't believe it... But seriously, that was another great episode. It's great writing that this one stuck up bitch from the first episode that all the other girls judge without a second thought gets one of the most unorthodox backstories. The little short story at the end was also nice and sums up what's so good about this show. The writing is really tight. Each story has something to make it worthwhile. AOTS. It's a shame the threads are dead but I'm not surprised.
Still considering if I should pick this one up.

Delightful episode, I didn't expect such a backstory for Asami and I'm very pleased at how they portrayed the growth of an immature girl, her backlash born out of her own insecurity, coming to terms that her parents are not the villains she was trying to make them out to be. I really enjoyed her parent's dynamic and how supportive of her they were, which only added to her own insecurity. Hopefully we see her again in the future, and see her still getting along well with her parents, even if they have different life paths, I feel like that's all her parents wanted.

It's a good show, but so far it has felt like it hasn't invited much discussion, hence why the threads never reach anywhere close to the bumpo and are not very active. It's hard to find THAT much to say because it is an anthology series and so far each episode has had a different focus girl and their stories seem to be "concluded" every time, so there isn't much to say about them besides, "that was good" "that was sad" "I really liked it" "wow what a bitch"Etc.

Just watched this eppy and the last oneI liked them, thought they were good, but my favorite so far is still the one a couple eppys ago about the old grandma that was a massive bitch. The feelings this episodes's girl was feeling towards her parents were quite complex and intresting, thoughever. However, It is now 5 episodes in and there is a sever lack of actual practice of the arts shown. When do we get to see actual acting or hear singing or playing instruments and such? It feels like they keep focusing on the various circumstances of each girl and all of their problems but they're hardly touching what they're actually supposed to be doing. For instance, at the time when the girl was monologing about calling her mom and apologizing for what she said and what she's going to do (presumably start distancing herself to become her own person) I feel it would have been good to hear her actual voice in the scene. We did already hear it in episode 1, but that was ages ago at this point
Also I think my favorite thing about this is the art style. It just looks so pretty all the time. Feels very water-color. It's just so lovely to look at

This was a very unique story, one that I think will be simultaneously both unrelatable and relatable at the same time for most people, which is an impressive feat of storytelling
