Japanese doesn't add an s to the end of a word to signify plural, but that's neither here nor there as only originalfags know that the real reason anons call out people using the word "animes" is because it is intrinsically tied with low quality posts such as "Hey guiz, can you recommend me some animes?"
The idea that we can't pluralize a word in the english way because the source language doesn't indicate plurality is stupid. Words don't have rights. They aren't IP. We can take and do with them as we please. Fortunately the Japanese aren't, by and large, a people looking to be offended by trivialities, so they don't even mind. No nips are out there wagging their fingers that "tempura" is misspelled or that it ought to be "tyfoo."
