>play Sword World with friends>kinda fun, but team is so unbalanced that fights are a pain>play the Deedlit in Monster Labyrinth game>very fun to play but story is essentially "ablublu parn is dead and I'm sad and must get over it">read the manga>Deedlit has no personality in it, everything she does or thinks is about Parn, to a point that it's almost insulting because the plot is minimum and it feels like a bunch of short stories about how Deedlit is in loveAt this point, should I really bother checking out the actual anime? I was hoping for some dungeons shenanigans and fabulous monsters living in the depth of earth while the party can barely agree to anything beside murdering monsters and taking their gold, but everything I saw so far makes me fear the actual anime is 50% action and 50% Deedlit wanting Parn to ravage her anus.Which I wouldn't mind, IF IT WAS WELL-WRITTEN. I'm pretty sure that when these Japanese blokes were playing DnD at the table, they weren't constantly shipping their characters together.
Aren't there replays of this?
>>287980367Ova or TV series?
>>287982635Maybe both? I was thinking series, I assume the anime served as base for the whole thing, so if I watch the serie, I'll get a good view of who's who. Beside the main character and his knife-eared bitch.
>>287982797No, actually. The TV series doesn't even start from the beginning. The ova is the one everyone knows. But starting at episode 8, it diverges from the source material and makes its own final arc that condenses different stuff together. The TV series starts around where the ova diverges and faithfully adapts the novels, but Parn is only the main character for the beginning. A new character, Spark, becomes the new protagonist on a hero's journey while Parn at this point has become a veteran adventurer and a legendary knight who mentors Spark.

>>287984589>But starting at episode 8, it diverges from the source material and makes its own final arcEpisodes 9 and 10 rush through volumes 3 and 4 after the first eight episodes had adapted the first novel.>The TV series starts around where the ova diverges and faithfully adapts the novelsIt doesn't. It still skips volumes 2 and 5 and makes a lot of changes to the rest.
>>287984692Well, more faithfully
>>287984589I see. At least it doesn't sound as bad as Slayers, I heard the anime changes a lot of stuff from the novel.
