I think the problem with this arc is that it's way too convoluted and lenghty for what ammounts to essentially a filler sidestory that doesn't particularly develop the main cast. I think it would have worked better if it was divided into 3 "episodes" (zig hired as bodyguard after lunch/fight with drug enhanced humans + witch adventures/showdown with elicia and the traitor) spread out inbetween sasha and zig's exploration, it would have been a more welcome change of pace. Elio being taken care off right away is also a missed opportunity. He would have been a more interesting character had he decided to escape after isana blocked his inv sword (showing her growth), as a known antagonist that works in the shadows yet is forced to start from scratch, but the writer clearly wanted to wrap up the whole thing and move on.
