AnimeKai is currently inactive due to the fact that the data center that the site uses has been heavily damaged in a fire.

Why you should not download anime.
Some known sources to download anime:
Nyaa
BakaBT
TokyoToshokan
#news
AnimeTake
AnimeTosho
AnimeSenshi

I will now go in depth about why each one is terrible.

Nyaa is as suspicious as it sounds. There are new viruses called "catz" which stand for "Computer Anti-Tech Zebras". Zebras are code for Trojans (they look alike, hence the name, and cath sounds worse anyways).

BakaBT, as the name suggests, makes you realize you are an idiot the second you download something. Viruses fucking galore.

TokyoToshokan. Toshokan actually means killer in Japanese. By using this website, a virus called Tokyo (Tom's Old Komputer YUO OIP). (YUO and OIP are some serious technical shit.) These render your computer useless.

#news takes on a new form of downloading called XDCC. Basically, you can watch anime as you download it. However, this means that the virus is also activated as it is downloaded. Therefore, by the time you finish watching, the virus will have come to it's final form, and your computer compromised.

AnimeTake is also a giveaway. Just look at the name. You get anime from it, it takes your personal identity. That's already bad enough.

AnimeTosho is bad for similar reasons to TokyoToshokan.

AnimeSenshi. Senshi is Japanese for warrior. In other words, it installs a virus that enters your computer, seiges your firewall, and cuts down all the necessary files for your computer.

Mediafire is a place where some hackers will upload anime for other people to download. Don't believe these seemingly generous people. The files get in and sets all your media on fire.

In other words, you should NOT download anime no matter what you do.

Are you butthurt we aren't buying crushitroll account? No one sane will buy from them (only mentally impaired).
Besides is not that site went down due to fire, not even they know what is going on.
But if rumours and yogen are to be believed we are close to the last days of internet because everything is failing, even youtube hasn't worked (white screen or suddenly infinite auto reloading site while playing video), then there are those other system presenting BSOD and lastly anime sites.
Best advice is grab whatever you can now and prepare whatever hard drive you have to fill it with anime, 720p is optimal since low size so 9 GB for 3 seasons anime 90 episodes in total, doesn't matter source as long can grab the magnet.

Yup. Kissanime, gogoanime, masterani, aniwatch, hanime, anikai. Some sites that lasted for 10+ years are dying like flies to DMCA, police, government, server costs, legal pressure, etc. The "hydra" is dying unless you go back to torrenting. Let's hope the situation improves even a little. For example storage and server costs go down soon

I know people hate streamfags but in my opinion it's better governments play whack-a-mole with these easy pop-up sites then make a serious effort to track/go after torrents.
So I hope they keep fighting the good fight. Let stream sites be the tank that takes all the government blows.

Waiting for an episode to download so you can delete it 24 minutes later is truly the superior method of watching anime.

>>
>>288004113
Depending on how many people are seeding you don't really have to wait long. If the episode released recently then you'll only be waiting a few seconds.
>>
>>287998400
These websites aren't even worth using because they don't have the blu ray versions of any show
>>
>>288004115
>Why is torrenting safer
You don't need a data center the that government can just raid and delete nor a single individual that can be arrested to shut down the site.
All you need is a link, and somebody, SOMEWHERE seeding, and you have a download.

The ones that are up 24/7 have the mild risk of well... garnering too much attention and getting shut down. And even then its hard to shut them down because all they do "in theory" is give you a magnet link. Nobody said/can prove they host any of the content so a website with hyperlinks is not illegal.

To go even further, torrents don't need to be up 24/7. They just need to be online when somebody is making a request for a show. That's why there's sekrit clubs (which nobody will share, including me) that have IRC channels with a server and a bot. The server stores anime and the bot turns on/off the seeding depending on the request. So you @ the bot, say "gimmie madoka" in a specific command format, and the bot turns on the seeding, you download, and it shuts back off. So it's hard to add trackers to, hard to discover via traffic, shut down, and is only available to sekrit club members. There's YouTube tutorials on how to set this up.

You can literally google everything I just explained. Nothing I said was difficult in any way to discover. Hell chat GPT could explain this to whatever 3 letter agency reads these threads.

>>288004241
In theory. As long as again, somebody/some server is hosting the content with that link is seeding. If they're all dead or offline its over.
Think of your friend having a computer, and he sends you a seed link that connects to his computer. As long as his computer is on, you can leech off it. If he shuts it off to go to bed, its dead.
>>

Yeah but having to search for something on the internet takes a lot of effort for the lazy masses of today so the less information you give for free the better and more effective the gatekeeping is.

"Hayase uses a client-client architecture instead. Each device runs Hayase independently and can:

Stream content directly from torrents without a central server
Share content peer-to-peer with other Hayase users
Work on any device you carry (laptop, phone, tablet)
Bring your content anywhere you go
Example scenario: You're visiting a friend's house and want to watch something together. With Jellyfin, you'd need your home server to be accessible and have enough upload bandwidth.
With Hayase, you simply:
Open Hayase on your phone
Cast to their TV via Chromecast
Start streaming - no server needed"

>>
>>288005748
Oh okay, it's basically like streaming but you get torrent quality selection of BD's/remuxes or whatever with zero worries of anything disappearing like a streaming site. It's also retard proof, it basically works like netflix so you don't need to understand how to torrent and especially how to torrent stream. Also all the files self delete after a set amount of space or shows watched. For example I mostly torrent stream bd's so my folder autopurges space after 50 gigs. Many complain about lack of space for torrenting and so the solution to that is to simply stream torrents. Hayase is just one way to do that, its the simple version.

exactly how you think. it prioritizes data chunks from sequential start to finish so there's no need to buffer, and if you want to mid video seek then the client prioritizes those chunks until it builds the complete file in the background

this is happening because anime is very popular right now. garbage companies like netflix or crunchyroll want to control the market as soon as possible. this also affects new anime, we have more battle shonen/isekai garbage nowadays. we have less original or artsy anime, casuals want thei bleach clone #3873638286. this is collateral damage that show the medium is dying, more people=hobby is ruined. we have more streaming services and most countries really want to stop piracy, this is going to be worse. not even the torrentfags that have all the episodes of wan piss in 40378392 disks are safe. in 20 years haibane renmei will be lost media

Admit it, without streaming, you have to always wait until your slow internet finish the download. If the subtitles in the video fucked up, you have to fix it on handbreak. Streaming sites help preview shows that you wouldn’t like otherwise.

Streaming is good.

Get sonarr and set up a jellyfin or plex server for your anime. I've been doing this for the past 5 years now and I will never go back to streaming. Biggest benefits is that you can watch on your TV anywhere you go. But i imagine most of you don't even know what a tv is. Sonarr keeps all your shows on a schedule and can automatically pull your shows when they come out. Just use nyaa for the torrent site and set the tag to subsplease or erai raws. If they aren't subbing an anime, anime time is okay as a backup. Varyg is consistent but their subs are shit and are only good if you want a simuldub show. Sonarr is somewhat annoying to initially set up and some weeklys are annoying because of how companies release their shows, like bleach or monogatari off season. But just use their discord and you'll get the hang of it.

Yeah, external drives don't need to fit into the same form factor as internal drives so there may be some variety there. I've only bought 1 external drive though and it was a 500GB one probably over a decade ago at this point so I don't really know what goes on with those. Building a computer is essentially just snapping things in where they go, so everything needs to more or less fit into the same places as everything else. It's a bit more complicated than that but mostly on the software side (or maybe physical interfaces) instead of physical size differences. GPUs are the things with the most variety I think, but this computer I'm talking about is purely for storage and doesn't need a GPU.

Just use Tribler bro. It's anonymized torrenting, no VPN required.
Be sure to delete the .Tribler folder in %APPDATA% (Windows) or Home (Linux) after every time you use it to reset your tokens.

Streaming isn’t illegal downloading, it’s a grey law that is not enforced but not illegal to watch in certain countries.

I use them all the time, just not for anime because of the storage size it takes , dont think they'll magically stop at streaming sites, their end goal is to prevent all forms of piracy to force people to use subscriptions, eventually they'll attempt to stop torrenting whether its feasible or not

Honestly, the biggest argument for streaming over torrent is that it's way easier to find streaming sites in languages other than English than torrent sites. Even in FMHY or EverythingMoe they only mention English torrent sites.
>>
>>288022704
sure why not, this kuso thread deserves it
>>
>>288024160
It really depends on the language and how widely spoken it is I guess but usually it's because the local torrent trackers (at least the ones where you can find anything) for specific countries are private or semi-private because since there are less people in general, the communities are much smaller and more niche, so retention is more difficult. Streaming sites aren't any better in this case since they face the same issue but without the solution of a private community, so they end up just lacking a lot of content compared to the English ones
For English stuff there's such an abundance of sources that 99% of people can live off public trackers perfectly fine, and private ones are kept as an option for the niche that specifically seeks more curated content/better releases/faster speeds. They aren't nearly as much of a necessity as for other languages
TL;DR it's the same pattern everywhere but English is just so big that it pretty much nullifies the problem for almost everyone
>>
I've torrented and don't have a weird superiority complex about it, be more like me

It's moronic because a video file being "stolen" is not something worth crying about.

>>288027108
it's still theft, jamal
>>
>>288027163
When you steal from someone, they no longer possess what you stole.
This is not the case with piracy.
Piracy is not stealing. It is making a copy of something.

>>

Anon, its not feasible. Thats why I said you don't know what you are talking about. In fairness, "they" can't stop every streaming site either, but I find it much more convenient to just download the shows I want to watch.

i seed for around 1-3 hours after i download, but the ratio is about 0.01 - 0.4 at best
i think i busted my shitty chink router, because upload is horrendous now
i used to 1.0 seasonal stuff, but cant get up to it this year
with older BD stuff i dont even bother, because nobody leeches it and there are a dozen seeds at least
>>
>>288009950
Reminder that Seed of KEK are a bunch of localization trannies who localized Goku's ''weasel's last fart'' line to ''one last parting shot''
>>
>>288022131
I seed to a nice round 2.0 ratio, it just feels like the right thing to do since torrenting is a trust based system. If it's really old stuff with few seeds, I will seed it for a little longer but I'm not overly zealous about it because I don't have a dedicated seedbox. While I do not judge people with shitty Internet or having very limited hard drive space to schedule this kind of stuff, I do think that people who can seed and do not are the niggers of the anime community. Obviously the system allows for leeching, and in some cases you are more than justified to simply not seed certain bullshit, but in the case of anime you really should do what you can, even if it's just seeding the usual seasonal stuff on release.
