very satisfying end.
>>287999605lurk moar newfag
>>287999872I thought I could get away with it at least for the ending, guess I'm just too hyped.
Is the story over now? I dropped in the semis I think, should get back into it. Any chance of a Storytime?
>>288000078It's very worth it if you liked the original KA. There's still an epilogue to go, guess I could do an storytime after that.
>>287999760>silhouette of samoan huntsman besides scourge
>>288000190Story time might be hard, most of the pages are basically like panels
>>288000078The fight is over, I assume we'll get some story pages later.
>>288000563KINO
>>288000768still worth it, to be honest. it was a very fun ride.
>>288000987There were so many fakeouts at the endpeak HOWEVER vibes.
>>288001041Glad we managed to get some comedy as well.
>>288001091*sensible chuckle*
>>287999605THE STRONG IS BEAUTIFUL
>>287999605I still think the story suffered from certain characters sticking around too long especially cockroach and his "lol didn't hurt" schtick but it ended well
This story made the most of not having an established MC. Author really had a lot of fun with the unexpected results in a way that didn't break immersion, because most of it made sense with the plot elements that were presented to us.
>>288001514What do you mean? Beatdown was the MC
>>288001470I honestly don't remember another bruiser/tanker in a story like this that was allowed to lose because someone did manage to finish their HP bar without using extra tricks. Characters like Cucaracho are either unstoppable final bosses you need to nerf somehow, or jobbers to hype up another important character. The fact that he was a real Top 2 among the entire cast and was put down in an extremely difficult fight by a guy who simply had to make perfect decisions the whole time and still almost lost felt very fresh to me.
>>288001586you spelled Tomahawk wrong
Are you replying to yourself
>>287999605I never doubted and I was rewarded. Hope the epilogue is as fantastic as the final fights.
>>288000563I did not notice that shit despite only looking for Scourge in that crowd, good call.
>>288001767do you think Kuroki will give Cucaracho what he wants...?
GOD IN A BOX SHOULD HAVE FUCKING WON
>>288001840Yes>>288001841Also yes but I don't think he would have held up against the brutality of EC purely because he's a kind person at the end of the day
>>288001666Tomahawk was strange because I think he was more interesting before we found out what his real trump card was.
>>288001644Maybe but I think the problem was we had basically just stat monsters for the final four. It didn't help that his win over VI had that ridiculous rugpull at the end where a victor was declared and then reversed.
>>288001841He was the best concept for a character out of the whole cast, but his gimmick would most likely wear thin with one more fight. Florida Man was just more versatile amusement-wise.
>>288001930I think he served the purpose of being a candidate for "Is he the SECRET STRONGEST" very well in the first 2 rounds, and then had everyone thinking "Is he the SECRET MC" for about 2 chapters when he fought Violence Incarnate.Thinking about it in a broader sense, him, God in a Box and Ice Cream Truck were all characters who had to exist and perform how they did to keep the "Who is the Kuroki of this story" mystery box fresh for as long as the author managed to.>>288002019>stat monstersThat's just a given in pseudo-realistic martial arts stories, though. When there's no literal magic, the gimmick guys will always be the ones to fall in the earlier rounds.
>>288002558>the gimmick guys will always be the ones to fall in the earlier rounds. This is true, Tomawhatever was doomed from the start.
>>288002679Tomahawk is easily in the Top 6, though. He forced Violent Into using Removal, and I don't think anyone else outside the Top 5 is even getting to that point (maybe Litetally Hitler?).
>>288002359>Florida Man was just more versatile amusement-wise.He absolutely was not. God in a Box had infinite creativity involved in his gimmick with no limits in sight. Florid Man was more of a berserker.
>>288003652Florida Man went toe-to-toe with GiaB at his own gimmick (from an entertainment/memorable panels standpoint), then went on a totally different punchline-path against Pete by using Ultra Instinct. Dunno, man. I just feel there was always some new way of expressing his madness in each different fight.
THATS MY FUCKING GOAT RAGGGHHHHHH!!!!TOO MANY FUCKING FAKEOUTS I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK EVERYTIME ROACH PULLED A "HOWEVER."
>>287999605>wanted Pete to win because I genuinely feel bad for EC and wish someone would kill him>Pete wins and spares ECMade me seethe a little not gonna lie.
>>288004025PETE, JUST BREAK HIS NECK, PETEEEEEEEEEEE, ITS ALL HE WANTS PLEASE
>>288004025 same, anoni was 100% on the “mercy kill EC” train by that point. the dude spent the entire manga speedrunning self-destruction, finally loses, finally gets that quiet “it’s over” moment… and then Pete hits him with the shonen protagonist special.like I get it, it’s thematically consistent. Pete proving he’s not Violence 2.0, breaking the cycle, yadda yadda. but emotionally? i wanted the clean finish. EC literally smiling like “oh thank god” and then realizing he has to keep living is way crueler than death.roach really said “you thought this was catharsis? no. this is rehabilitation arc bait.”can’t even be mad, just sitting there like that Goku image fr.
The INSTANT I saw Cucaracho's leg snap I knew it was fucking over no matter how much of a zombie he was. Since previous chapters specifically were highlighting how both Pete's legs AND Cuca's legs were starting to crack little by little. That was the final collision that proper mattered, once he lost that leg, it was over then and there.
>>288004025>>288004037>>288004180That moment of acceptance... torn away cause Pete is too good of a guy.I guess El Jefe's talk about how he fought hard as hell, so his opponent didn't try to spare him turned out to be prophetic in a way.
Legs > All Else
>THEY WERE ABOUT TO WITNESS SOMETHING TRULY SPECIAL>WOULD SOBER ANYONE UPSome of these fight set ups goddamn
some of the moves pete pulled was just borderline magic
>>287999760My heros...
>>288006331Look at these stompers and tell me he couldn't do what he did.
>>288003914>TOO MANY FUCKING FAKEOUTS I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK EVERYTIME ROACH PULLED A "HOWEVER."I just found it extremely annoying. At the end I was just tired of this shit and just hoped for it to end.
>>288001514Wasn't the referee the MC?
>>288002558>That's just a given in pseudo-realistic martial arts stories, though. When there's no literal magic, the gimmick guys will always be the ones to fall in the earlier rounds. If I'm going to compare it to Kengan, Kengan basically has a Jobber < Gimmick type< Speed type < Strength type < skill type system and of the final four the only strength guy was Waka who's more strength/skill, with Ohma, Kuroki and Agito being primarily skill based. Not saying it has to be like that, but the mechanically interesting guys like Abyss, Scourge, Ice Cream Truck all got taken out long before the finale, and Tomahawk and Beatdown losing in the quarter finals back to back meant that the final four felt very samey. >>288003318Ice Cream Truck?
Did Sandro pass his talent to this random fanfic writer?
>>288002679Tomahawk wasnt a gimmick guy
