So I've been seeing clips of Call of the Night/Yofukashi no Uta and it seems like an interesting premise. However, I do recall something along the lines of how the manga apparently has one of the worst endings of recent memory. It was a few years ago and I distinctly remember a lot of angry discussion about it.Is the manga still worth reading up until a certain point? I'm perfectly fine with reading a manga and pretending specific parts (like bad arcs or bad endings) don't exist. I just was wondering whether the other stuff in it is good enough to be worth a read.
>one of the worst endings of recent memoryYou fell for the picrelated meme.
>>288030740so true sis, oshi no ko ending was actually great
why can't you faggots make a "should I watch this specific anime" general thread on /wsr/
>>288030675If you are not baiting, and honestly askingThe ending is just a letdown, as it doesn't feel like one.If you read the short story the mangaka made when season 2 aired, itleaves a better taste in your mouth. Also, the discussion was what it was because of week to week realease. If you read it all at once, it is not that jarring.Although i guess everyone says that for every manga, so that may be copeTLDR, the end is not manga ruining, it doesnt come even close to snk onk csm etc
>>288030976That's good to hear. Thanks. I'll check it out. Perhaps I won't have to remove that ending out of my head once I get to that point.
>>288030740trvke
>>288030675I wouldn’t say it was an AoT-tier bad ending. It wasn’t particularly satisfying and I would’ve preferred something different, but it wasn’t manga-ruiningly bad.I still recommend reading it, it’s a fun ride.
>>288030675idk man i just really like the music and dub
>>288030675The first season of the anime was super comfy, but I dropped the second three episodes in.
>>288030740That pic is retarded. Expectations are set by writers and satisfactory/unsatisfactory are almost objective concepts. Stories have identifiable intent and failing this will annoy the reader. A lot of writers fail to deliver because they tend to fetishize being unpredictable and subversion of expectations as if either of those is inherently good.
>>288030740I would say it's even simpler than this and say that people get sad that the thing ended and don't like that it did. Or rather, people are so used to the serialization/TBC/sequel process that they're unused to experiencing endings and the feeling is alien and therefore must be bad.
>>288033142strange, most people in the threads while it was still airing said they were enjoying itif you enjoyed s1/manga, give it another chance anon
>>288033248I will, I think I was just in between things at the time, season 2 felt like season 1 for the most part, so I didn't drop it out of a dislike for the show.
risking spoilers just to say i love banana tits
