Well, are you a man or a wo- actually never mind.
>>
>>288032750
You're supposed to self-insert as this guy.
>>
Why do none of you monkeys know what a self insert is?

well, then enlighten us monkeys
what is a self insert?

A character the author put into the story to represent themselves, about as literal as definitions get. The reader can't have a "self insert" because they're not the one writing the story.

You severely underestimate the delusions of normalfags.

The issue with a self insert is that it must lack enough personality so as the vast majority of the target audience can get in the position.
When a character has a clear personality and opinions of its own the audience may not like then it stops being a self insert and its just a POV.

You can project on an existing character all you want, but that's not a self insert by definition.
I don't know why people keep saying self insert instead but I suspect it's because projection is considered a pejorative in internet arguments so they think it sounds better.

Again the audience doesn't have any relation to a self insert, because it's a vessel for the author, not them. Mary Sue is a self insert, Ryan Gosling is not.

That's specifically 'author self-insert". You can also have "audience self-insert".

How would the audience insert into the story? It's the same whether they read it or not.

You are supposed to self-insert as the brushbuddy who does unspeakable things to all of them while they are asleep.
