at least wenge is actually one of the only others (besides peco) on the up and up in the world of tennis post time skip...

i relate more to demon; was never particularly good at what i liked doing (drawing), but still put (lowball) 15 000 hours into it before washing my hands of it.
cheering on the real heroes from the sidelines is freeing.
>>
>>288038484
Sakuma's VA was way too good to discount him like that. I can still hear his
>NANDE DAYOU
In my sleep
>>
I'm more like the mediocre guy who lost his first match after many years trying. It had the same VA as Nanami of JJK.
>>
He made the Olympic team, discovered the power of friendship, and his mom loves him.
>>
the anime cut my favorite wenge moment for some unknown reason. he has like 3 panels in a row looking earnestly confused when his coach is taken aback by him asking who'd lose between him and smile at their first encounter, in the anime he just shouts and looks angry and then it moves on to the next page.
>>
>>288038375
Wenge is cool he loves his mom
>>
>>288038375
Wenge is the coolest character in the show by a mile though.
>>
>>288038375
>wenge learns to speak japanese in a couple of months while most anons can't even learn to read it in 10+ years
>>
>>288041797
he had it in his genes, probably from around Nanking or something
>>
>>288041797
Setting aside that most anons are indeed for ever dekinai, it sure makes a difference if you're actually living among the Japanese, for professional reasons no less. There's no learning a language like being forced to use it for your every day-to-day interaction.

>>

chinese learners have a huge advantage
although its mostly in the writing part so reaching conversational level is still impressive
>>
i like ping pong but i don't get it.
was i supposed to learn something from peco vs dragon other than:
>hero so cool, neva lose!
because, while it was great emotionally, i don't see how losing your mind/giving in to delusion and imagining yourself being thunder would suddenly let you kaioken x10 with a knee that's on the verge of permanently crippling you.
>>
>>288041797
chinese is far more similar to nip. Like learning German as an English speaker
>>
>>288042037
>hero so cool, neva lose!
heroes drive away the darkness and in so doing transcend logic.
>>
>>288038375
More of us are Akuma than we want to admit.
>>
>>288042170
That's not true at all. Chinese and Japanese don't belong to the same language family. The Japanese vocabulary is strongly influenced by the Chinese language, but a native Chinese speaker probably wouldn't even recognize most of these loan words. The Japanese have a way of mangling foreign vocabulary to fit the cadence of their language.
>>
>>288041797
He lived in Japan and had to interact with the japanese constantly. I watch cartoons every other day.

3 of them? no, not even 1.
i look normal (for an anon) and could probably trick a somewhat slow woman to get with me (sidenote: was demon's wife supposed to be retarded or was the VA just having fun?) but even then i wouldn't want to reproduce.
last i heard autism is hereditary at a rate of 20-30%~, it feels too cruel no matter how i slice it to gamble with another life like that.

LET'S SPOKON
>>
>>288038375
I love this show for having the Chinese people actually speak Chinese instead of pretending the entire world speaks Japanese.
>>
>>288043295
also the constant engrish.
>>
>>288042037
Mentality is very important in sports. Peco was overthinking and playing nervous, but then he wins by letting go and having fun.
>>
>>288043200
No idea what Muko's deal was. Maybe she's actually on the slow side or she's just your anime style dojikko

I don't think it was so much ping pong and more about not having anyone shittalk his dad who killed himself and his mother
>>
>>288038375
I'm not Wenge.
I'm not even the side character who works with his parents.
I ain't got shit.
>>
>>288038375
Nah, I'm Akuma at best. I try hard and get okay at things that I like but only get to okay and can never be good at it because I'm a defect.
>>
>>288038375
You may not like this but it is true Wenge is a character from Ping Pong : The Animation - the only good Yuasa anime ever made

Yep
>>
Could you do it, Anon?
Drive a stake into an old friend's injury; choosing a strategy likely to end their career?

I could. Walking up to the table with a visible injury is like announcing to the arena:
>If you lose then you lost to an injured person, making you both cruel & bad, while If I lose... I lost because I was injured, duh.
It's disrespectful, evil & a bitch move.

Genuinely the best Christmas episode I have ever seen in anime, maybe any other media too

There're a lot of small Peco moments unfortunately cut from the show I wish were included, like his reasoning for always ditching school.
>Prime numbers. Where're those gonna get me?
It's just a small panel near the start but it primes his character so well.

Wenge actually put the effort to learn japanese, as he put effort to be good at table tennis
The average weeb retard who moves to japan think they will magically learn japanese without studying or behaving like a japanese would behave and then act surprised when it has been 2 years and they still haven't learned shit
>>
I've never seen another anime evoke the feeling of there being absolutely no tension in the final episode, I wouldn't even know how to properly explain it
