Feels very much like you can't force it. Your town might get a boost through sheer luck when it happens to be the setting of a series that caught on, but pumping money into an anime specifically to advertise your town is just a waste of tax revenue. Not the worst kind of waste, mind you. I guess if these towns didn't splurge on anime they would've splurged on something more worthless instead. Regardless you can't expect to astroturf your backwater hometown to relevance that way. It has to happen naturally.

>>288038677they initially tried to portray it as some oregairu/bunny senpai (rascal does not dream) type deep anime with fantastic dialogue and actually top notch waifu designs (at least they delivered on that last point), but it very quickly revealed just how basic and shit the writing was, and some of it was downright bizarre like pic related that was skipped in anime but was even worse in the light novel. and then it went from a 1-cour thing to being dragged across two cours just to finish 13 episodes in a rushed manner, and part 2 is basically in limbo if it even will happen at all. the japanese audience is excusing it saying it only gets better after light novel volume 3, but that would be in like a hypothetical second season that this will never get anyway.

The first arc repelled a lot of people. Some say it gets better after that, but most didn't give a chance. I feel like the MC should have had a more shoujo handsome boy design if he was supposed to be so attractive to every girl.

My problem with Chitose was that the drama wasn't in-groupIt was just a weird series of loosely related arcs of MC solving each girl's problems in isolation one at a time and the other girls' participation in the story is just them being jealous in the background

I just thought that Chitose was a prick in the first episode and didn't bother watching any more. when he smashed the window at the end I decided it wasn't for me. I remember asking myself what possible explanation would have let him get permission to break a glass door Also, what kind of a strategy is>hm, this guy isn't coming to school because he's unpopular? I know! let's send the most popular guy in school to parade his harem to the guy! That'll make him want to leave his room!I mean, the shut in was a prick as well, so it's hard to have sympathy for him, but Chitose doesn't come across well either
