I think it's overall fairly well put together, but the quality of the directing seems kind of uneven, and adapting the slow beginning of the manga completely straight hasn't done it any favours.

>>288077218I don't think there's any issue with the pacing of the anime. I don't want Rumiko's works to "adapt to the times", the amount of build-up to the characters and the setting before introducing the Byouki is fine as-is and did not need to be hastened.
