This bothers me so much on my new IPS monitor. It wasn't noticeable on the old ancient TN one. I've been thinking of getting a VA instead, do you know if that would help?

It depends. The newer the monitor, the worse it'll be. VA's nowadays are simply too good, but it will be better than the IPS. I heard BFI (black frame insertion) kinda helps, too.

Indeed. If you live in the middle of nowhere, you might be able to find one on Ebay.

Regardless, before anything, please make sure you're setting your monitor to a multiple of 24 (48, 72, 96, 120) hz before watching anime. There are some good settings in mpv that helps alleviate too like video-sync=display-resample and other shit
