Imagine if anime never took off via streaming. In the US at least, anime was pretty mainstream from 1998-2003. Then toonami got moved to weekend only. CN couldn't find a successor to DBZ lol. By this point anime was obviously on a decline being held up by narutoshit which debuted in late 2005. Here's the thing. You'd have increasingly less fans watching anime without streaming. Zoomers are essentially retards. They'd be gatekept by the very act of downloading anime via torrents. When SAO and AoT were released in 2012 and 2013. They don't turn into massive hits. They pitter away pretty quickly lol. Don't forget shit companies like ADV dying in 2009 because of the recession. We almost had it. But streaming brought in the normalfaggots and zoomers.

>AoT
underage tourist detected, opinion discarded
come back when you grow up and stop hating yourself
>>
>>288091890
shut up zoomer.
>>
>>288091914
it's pretty obvious you're projecting, kid
stop obsessing over other people and live your life, all you have to do is close twitter and tiktok and all your problems will go away
>>
>>288091975
Zoomer who discovered anime post AOT shut the fuck up
>>
Ok? So anime would be dead by this point is what you're saying?
>>
>>288091914
He's right. I had to think for a moment what AoT was, because it was always called SnK here.
>>
>>288092120
Nah propped up by Asia. Whether that's a good or bad thing. At least the Chinese have a massive firewall so we don't have to hear about AURA FARMING, PEAK, etc when discussing anime.
>>
>>288092260
You think it would be sustainable off of physical sales or TV airing in Asia alone? That's so optimistic of you.

>imagine if big anime studios ignored technological advancement to promote their content and lose billions just to appease to fans
>blame on the big companies for their audience retardation
What's next on that small head with over those massive tits? Extra content only in magazines? Go back to VHS?
It was inevitable anon. And in the end, fault of both the viewers themselves for being morons. Nobody is putting a gun on their heads and tell them to watch anime and have shit opinions about it.
>>
Maybe they could put the episodes in CDs in cereal boxes.
>>
>>288092293
Yes. That's like half the market. We already have too much anime today. We can scale it back 10 shows a season
>>
>>288092463
Dude...
>>
>>288091866
you're forgetting about dvds, and there was a manga shelf in every single barnes & noble
>>
>>288091866
It would've been more realistic for you to say America made anime and manga illegal.
>>
>>288092665
Do you not realize how expensive dvds were for anime back in the day? And it was unsustainable anyways. ADV died in the recession. And manga is niche compared to anime
>>
>>288091866
tl;dr
>>
>>288092293
Isn't that most anime before the isekai era?

>toonami moved to the weekend
>adult swim picked up the slack through the 2000s
>sci-fi channel aired afew series
>anime at blockbuster
>Toonami fucking died in 2008 and didn't come back for a full 4 years
> new normalfag wave comes from streaming that filled that gap of time
I'd still be burning anime DVDs from rentals and downloading anime from websites, there's nothing you can do to stop me

Anime was on the verge of death in early 2000s? What happened?
>>
>>288094598
It wasn't on the verge of death. But it's popularity was simply a fad in the US via toonami which stopped airing on weekdays after a few years
>>
>>288094032
Good lord man, spoiler that shit for the people that don't keep up with the raws! Very rude.
>>
>>288094939
nothing to spoiler, Yidhra is just slightly depressed, that's fairly normal
>>
>>288095366
Only a normal amount of slightly depressed yeah, lol
>>
>>288094598
It was alive and well. OP seems to think that big shounens represent all of anime when they're only relevant to the subhuman masses and not to real people.
>>
You're never going to believe this /a/, but today OP was a faggot as well. Shocking, I know.
>>
>>288094032
What no BRC does to a witch
>>
>>288095755
Technically former witch what with her no longer being able to naturally produce mana at the moment, after all
>>
>>288095952
She still has her kizuna magus abilities
>>
>>288096454
I suppose logically that follows since it's based off of Mana Metal, though how much she can actually get out of it is yet to be seen
>>
>>288091866
>>288092445
didn't read, came for the yidhra and shauha
>>
>>288097853
I'm just going to come out and say it: Shauha is hotter than Yidhra is. I'm tired of pretending she's not.
>>
>>288099435
that's like comparing second to third place, alright man. i'm squarely for raniya.
>>
>>288099435
She is the Appalling Beauty after all
>>
>>288091866
ADV died because they were fucking retarded and spent a bunch of money trying to get the groundwork for a live action Evangelion movie done. They paid for fucking WETA to do designs for it.

Yeah, but as time goes on, general costs in japan increase, which means everyone's salaries need to go up too.

Holy shit I miss these dorks
S2 when?
>>
>>288100694
IIRC they started doing production on S1 in 2023 (or maybe it was 2024?), so even if they immediately decided to give the go ahead on a S2 none too long after the first finished airing, mid 2027 or so would probably the most hopeful prediction you could give.
>>
>>288095663
No. You're incapable of reading. I was talking about the state of anime in the USA. You're probably just a zoomer who doesn't know
>>
Basic and extended cable lost anime from like 2000 on.
I found out about TT in the first place because anime unleashed bought the farm.
