Then when he recovered he started Last Order to reboot the story. However other than that I haven't been keeping up.To be honest at this point the manga has went completely differently to what I used to like. But maybe from the beginning he never planned for a coherent story.For example, I always assumed that Gally with a brainchip, being completely mechanical, will one day had to fight her brain that had all her memories restored, which just might also make brain Gally evil. I always assumed that the story leading to the ultimate confrontation that Brainchip Gally would defeat her past self at full power. The Gally that was raised by Ido being better than what she was.But i guess i was never going to get that.

>>288111061>To be honest at this point the manga has went completely differently to what I used to like.Even if we're still stuck in Mars Namek right now, the fundamental premise and twist of the original series is still very much a major narrative theme of the manga.Now we have two Gally, the OG one (Yoko) and the brainchip copy, Yoko got her full biological body and a much deserved rest and happy life with her husbando Figure Four, now we're following the brainchip copy retreading Yoko's copypasted memories of the past, the fundamental argument that the original manga started with the brainchip twist and LO kept on expanding upon is still very much present, it's just that we're currently in a "origins" kind of story where we finally see where Yoko came from and how she grew up before she was slingshot in the earth's atmosphere and got salvaged by Ido in the first series.Criticize the horrid pacing and the changes in artstyle all you like and you're objectively right about the former, but Kishiro is actually doing a pretty good job at connecting the dots without letting go of the core themes of the series, he's just taking his sweet ass time to do so and wasting time on some extremely questionable arcs and characters.

And of course for a while he cheated by making some of the characters near-immortal so they can be killed AND brought back later. But such is the case that he has a violence quota to fill.
