You see this is music anime too but in an anime you can show the act. You can play the music because the viewer can actually hear the parts that are important. Something like Kono Oto Tomare still had people be a bit mentally chatty during important songs but they were expressing actual ideas and thoughts and they played the song so it worked together.

The idea that there's an art from where you are limited to a number of works you can perform, and there are only a few approved styles by which you can perform those works just seems so restrictive.
