Everyone forgets how turbo-edgy super early Bleach was, as in pre Byakuya fight. Like in the manga Numb Chandelier outright killed Tsubaki and Chizuru then told Orihime it was going to have her gang-raped then forced to commit suicide. Also her powers as originally described were legit broken-tier. It was tied to her will/resolve and she was effectively a reality warper as long as she was sufficiently motivated, and she never got that angry/serious ever again.
