Hell, even ask the emperor himself for things, even if they seemed inconsequential in the scene at the time. The only man at this point that has any power over her fate has the power over everyone's fate so it's an inconsequential distinction. She fears a sky that everyone fears and should fear and plays it off as though its her burden alone.She may be the singularly most free individual in all of the kingdom, that's functionally what volume 15 concluded on in the "pre op dinner." I like the story and the character but she isn't without her own faults, be it the result of the author leaning too heavily on certain tropes or the result of purposely crafted shortcomings. In either case the barriers around her are of her own making. (She also purposely did not study for the court examination which she would have likely done fine in as 1. it's a nepo test by and large and 2. she's been keeping up with the medical side aptly.)
