Do Naruto fans even care that much about the character Naruto? He seems like one of the most generic nothing "meh" protagonists there is. Not offensive, just kind of there I guess. And even though Naruto is popular among normies, you'll see them with goku on their clothes, or Luffy bumper stickers, but I never see the actual character of naruto in the wild (just uchiha shit)

Part 1 Naruto is an excellent protagonist. But his character goes to shit along with the writing, the artsyle and the worldbuilding after the timeskip.

He's still who he is, but he takes things seriously when they need to be taken seriously, unlike his part 1 self.Then as we drew closer to the war Naruto just became a generic shounen MC. So yes, I did really like him in early Shippuden.
