I'll be storytiming the manga, one complete case per day. Most cases are around 3-6 chapters long. Feel free to drop in at any time, since it's mostly episodic.Case 277: Curse of the NuePrevious case:>>288186672

>>288208066oh nonono nuefags our response????
>>288208229I didn't even read the entire Scotch bit, I was gonna question that he was FBI.Turns out Scotch was Akai all along, damn.
>>288208179bet it's just the same trick as the fire dog thing again
Done. Ever since you guys pointed it out, I can't help but notice that Heiji got banished to the supernatural cases ghetto. There is always only one truth! See you tomorrow!
>>288208401They sure like dog-like creatures that set things on fire by walking.
>>288208627>Press X to doubt
>>288208687>Fishing... string?
>>288208772What?
>>288208772Enter Rum?
>>288208772>I can't help but notice that Heiji got banished to the supernatural cases ghetto.Yeah, it's hard to stop noticing trends like these when once you realize. The perks of being a weekly manga (Or monthly, or whatever Conan qualifies as nowadays) is that there's enough time between that you might not pick up on it.
>>288208772who is this whore even?
Yeah all that we need another pointless romantic subplot, like wow guys do you think Heiji will leave his 900+ chapters love interest for this new random gal?
>>288208377Should have invited Shuichi Akai, or Masumi Sera, or Toru Amuro, or Shukichi Haneda, or Mary Sera or—
>>288208772>another Heiji case>it's supernatural >EEK>the twist is almost identical to one from one of Heiji's latest cases>all other details are completely esoteric (a Wile E. Coyote wall, really?)>any semblance of good writing has to to take the backseat to le romance plot>so much so that Gosho has no recourse but to introduce a love rival for Heiji Alright, I'm out
>>288209692See you tomorrow!
>>288208377Why is Shinichi Kudo still famous after being AWOL for so long?
>>288210535>so longmerely a couple of months

Yeah not the best case but I liked how friendly and industrious the mayor was
Post some old conan
>>288208153can someone in the know explain what the translators were pulling here?
>>288212004the left page is filled with the letter A repeatedly, like he was screaming "AAAAAAA", and the right page is "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII"i don't know why they had Kazuha say it says "EEEEE"
>>288210763There's been like three new years chapters
>>288210535People have amazing memory in DC, Shinichi's mom has been retired from acting for 17 years and people still light up when seeing her.
>>288212625Beika celebrates new year 3 times a year.
>>288208377This is legit. Motivated Kogoro and Shinichi is simply a tier above Heiji.
>>288208772I get the impression that if he could Gosho would have dropped Heiji from the story since he's become so disconnected from anything that could be considered a main plot. The only claim to fame he has left is being the first "rival" detective.
>>288213393It's around the time this chapter came out that movie with Momiji was also released. I am more of the opinion Gosho would have liked Heiji and Conan to still be doing the rival duo thing, but other people handling the franchise were steering him more towards wanking certain characters, and doing more romance to bait the female fans.Either way, Momiji's character is the most annoying and most pointless addition to this date, she makes even Eisuke look good. Only thing she has that could be taken as relevant is that she is granddaughter of some political bigshot that may or may not end up part of BO plot, and that her butler is former PSB agent, but that could have easily be done without psychotic harassment of Heiji.
>>288209105Nah, she has both eyes.
>>288208804The hound of Baskerville is a very popular breed in DC.
>>288207926>identity thief just got treated as another morning in Beika
>>288214627Well, by contract Amuro has to turn it into no big deal. Maybe later he plans to work his magic on Azusa to really make her forget.
>>288207936> Dark skinned man> It must be Makoto! There are over 20 million people just in your city. You're talking about people entering a famous detective's office ffs
>>288214800But she is horny for only one dark-skinned man, and it must have been a too long time since he showed her the power of his karate.
>>28820803850 bucks the stupid gaijin was trying to write something in English - like always when Gosho involves a foreigner in a case
>>288215018It's sillier than that.
>>288208153I had a square-grid notebook that I wrote kanji in while practicing with Anki. I just wrote the kanji after each other, filling the pages. The Japanese LOVED it, their reactions were very much on the scale of Kazuha - Harley, with some honestly looking a bit unsettled by it.I try to remind myself of this when I get annoyed by Kazuha and Rans scaredy-cat act - its not so exaggerated (though you'd think it'd diminish after the n:th "monster")
>>288208012>compares it to the site of where Jimmy confessed to Ran>insisted on Conan comingI think I can see where this is going...
>>288208020The heat from the rice cooks the egg.
>>288215104I think this one is still heated by flame, judging by the contraption underneath.
>>288208707>てつの, the kanji for "iron"Uh, not like I'm an expert, but isn't that just hiragana? Kanji for "iron" is 鉄 according to jisho.org
>>288215232i forget, who is vermouth again and why is she hanging around the femboy? also i thought he was supposed to piss off after the train assassination attempt
>>288215377>>288215232sorry didnt mean to (you) you
>supernatural case>Ran and Kazuha are being annoying bitches and fall for another myth despite being proven wrong countless timesHeiji deserves better, him and Conan have the best dynamic in the series and all his cases dragged down by Ran and Kazuha. Is he ever going to get a non supernatural case again? He’s Conan’s best running mate not Akai
>>288215377Amuro is BO's investigator, and also double agent for japanese secret service. In-story reason is that the train assassination wasn't his main objective (he was looking into disappearance of a BO agent, Sherry was just cherry on top), so he is still hanging around to sniff out potential trouble for them. But otherwise he is a Gundam reference together with Akai, and makes with him a pair of husbandos that clash over a very tragic event in the past.Vermouth is currently his assistant, and since Gin and his posse hate her, she has all the reason to keep that job. Together they are part of BO that is supposed to be working against them (Kir is too busy actually spying on BO). And also while Amuro is fanservice for girls, Vermouth is fanservice for guys.I feel like I shouldn't be explaining this, but I had free time anyway.
At this pointConan and Heiji should crossover with Scooby Doo
>>288215387i think this is the last case where Heiji deal with supernature case
>>288215888There's the one in Kyoto.
>>288208687Okay, come on...
>>288215529>disappearance of a BO agentWho was it, again?
>>288208726Oh yeah, same eyelashes
>>288208209Oh hey, its the guy from Hanzawa comic someone posted last thread
>>288208555>Shipgirl figgy kitWhat a man of culture.
>>288208627>Despite making up 1,3% of the population, murders in Beika City represent 50% of the total murders in Japan.
>>288207974Definitely not asking for a murder with that residence.
>>288208049Common decency towards the dead?In my Case Closed!?
So even disregarding the filler episodes and only taking the canon episodes into account, is it safe to assume Conan is in a time paradox to solve mysteries forever? He doesn't actually grow older, and a boy his age would have significantly aged into a visible young adult by now, right?Isn't it getting kind of fucking crazy to anyone or is it just me
>>288207993>five charactersTwo murders, yay!
>>288208356I feel safe already!
>>288208377Heiji is a third-rate detective with a fourth-rate reasoning.
>>288208459Feels like it's been a while since we last saw him.
>>288208592Wow, rude.
>Everyone pointing out how everyone in the BO is a mole>I'm wondering how truly dangerous is the BO that every agency out there is following them to that degree.
>>288216704Rikumichi Kusuda, the guy they sent to find Kir in hospital. He blew his brains out while trying to escape (cause you can't have heroes actually kill someone), and they used his corpse to fake Akai's death.
>>288218082What if it's the stone soup of syndicates?Like, there were only 3 members originally they just acted clandestine so nobody could figure out it was only them, so a bunch of three letter agencies sent a bunch of guys to infiltrate them and ended up accidently bolstering them
What flavor of glowie are Gin and Vodka?
>>288213393No you see the Shinigami that granted Conan the buff also desires to have some supernatural cases so he cursed Heiji with the supernatural case buff. Heiji will always attract supernatural cases that lead into murders to please the quota.
>>288217849He was last seen in chapters 826-827, the case where Conan got tennis racquet to his head and then later pretended to be innocent when he was found alone with a murdered man inside a locked room. When I look at list of cases where he appears, there is certainly a lot of gaps, Sango is in Shizuoka, so inspector for summer cases I guess.
>>288218407>Yamamura got supernatural cases>Heiji got supernatural casesWell, that's certainly not a compliment to Heiji's intelligence.
>>288217627Of course she's the killer
I'm surprised the Kid didn't show up, though I guess it was more a Heiji case with the Nue shit
>>288218840Kid is next case
>>288218082There's tons of info out there on how glowies operate. You should be aware organizations don't need to be dangerous or connected to crime or really do anything special in order to get infiltrated, and undercover agents outnumbering the genuine members in a group has really happened.
>>288207936>were they dressed in black? They are NOT allowed to wear any other clothes!
>>288220492this is how you can identify real members like gin and vodka from the moles
>>288220546Kir wears black, she truly mastered disguising herself as totally inconspicuous sheep in the flock.
>>288208673Sprinkling sodium on a lawn and shooting water at it won't start fires that big, you will just get a little sizzle. She should have gotten some caesium!
>>288208707>>288208718>>288208726Why did she wait 17 years for this? Did it take that long to practice?
>>288221669She wasn't practicing for 17 years, she just held her grudge for that long. It took her that long to set the plan in motion probably cause the place was abandoned until the new mayor came along not so long ago and was the first interested in reviving the area.
I appreciate the wide variety of looks of suspects but I hate the chinless fucks so much.
>>288220492
>>288207993Second time in 90 volumes where Heiji is actually jealous for Kazuha instead of Conan.
>>288217390Chances are that character progression was sequential.
>>288222600Nvm, I got cyanide poisoning
>>288221868Be nice to Yamamura, he works hard
>>288207946Oh... this is a Heiji case?
>>288223041One has to throw Heijifags a bone every now and then.
>>288208687>I made this from the spare bottle of seltzer and I'm just a kid!...you also just painted an optical illusion that covers two floors of a building on some sheets you just sewn together after seeing that building just today...
>>288208453Conan: Look at this!Heiji: You are right Kudo, that is grass
>>288221807That's a long time to hold a grudge, she could have thought of any other plan to kill them earlier.

>>288213393Heiji was Haibara's stand-in because the anime didn't kill Akemi so Gosho delayed Haibara's debut until the anime ended to not embarrass TMS
>>288228777For a moment I thought we'd get an Akai vs. Kid chapter but I guess we're not doing interesting pairings.
>>288227963Probably not really, no. I've watched the anime roughly until the end of the Kir arc including most of the fillers. The cases tend to be even simpler, especially the single-episode ones, naturally. Sometimes when it's a detective squad episode, I've found myself skipping filler episodes here and there. However, they can also be pretty comfy to watch if you enjoy just watching the cast (it's mosly detective boys or the classic Kogoro/Ran/Conan combo) visit different places around Japan and learning some cultural trivia. I also remember a nice little throwaway episode about Jimmychi's parents moving in next door in disguise and stalking him, so they sometimes give some screentime to characters that appear less often as well.tl;dr Fillers aren't exactly great, but nice to watch if you just wanna see some more Conan.

>>288228816kek
>>288228881>>28822963510k seems to be much too high. I've counted at most 20 books per shelf, although it's hard to count for most of them. With 8 shelfs per column and 6 columns per wall, you get 3840 books in that room, and that's without substracting the space the door takes up. So unless there's two rows of books in each shelf, I doubt there's 10k in that room alone.
>>288228980It's in the cook book, isn't it ? She already memorized the recipe so she didn't open those books again.

>>288227963they're no worse than the gosho ones, and there's often many cute side characters.
>>288229154>few years ago>according to his manga's timeline Kaito only found out about special gemstones few months ago at mostThey really run on different time.
>>288229587Any additional character is really just there to make it slightly different from usual Kid cases, but it's always Kid vs Conan.
>>288230273Kid has been emitting aura/haki since his first appearance. The most egregious one is the Karasuma case. Conan pretty much pinpoint his identity by his haki alone.
>>288232772it's like how twins have a psychic connection
>>288232591i mean, maybe Conan storyline happened after Kaito manga year after
TMS uploaded this on their channel, a new Lupin vs Conan perhaps?
>>288233043Kaito is Shinichi's age, and was already an older teen in high school when he first discovered his dad's bat cave. He also already had a few heists under his belt when the story of holding gemstones to the moonlight reached him. There is no way to squeeze "few years ago" into that.

>>288228999>>288229011I'm not gonna lust after this panel until it's confirmed that Ran isn't Kaito Kid.I made that mistake before.
>>288235339I don't think he ever disguises as same person again. Can confirm Ran's thighs are indeed her karate-trained thighs, but her height is an important clue.
>>288229140>Doc doesn't call me "Conan" when we're alone.I forget, does Kid know that Conan is Jimichi? Also, close enough.
>>288235391He does, but I think there was some issue with when he found out, as it was in a movie, but those seem to be considered semi-canon, depending how Gosho likes to reuse ideas.
Is Kogoro a better shot than Akai?
>>288232772>among us
>>288233268The morse code is givingL3VSDCTVSP20260525So I'd say youre right, Lupin 3 vs Detective Conan on TV on 25th may.
>>288235391>>288235408Nah, it wasn't in a movie. He found out in the ship case with the pearl >>288232772 when he overheard a conversation between Conan and Agasa.I think a few Kaito cases back he mentioned Conan's identity again, prompting another anon to ask the same question.
>>288235380>I don't think he ever disguises as same person againNot only was he disguised as Nakamori before, which was his original plan in this case, you can also see Ran, Sonoko and Sebastian on his phone when he randomly picks one for his disguise, all of which happened before already. >>288228798As I'm typing this I realize you probably mean it just doesn't happen in the manga, not that it's some kind of principle of his, so I guess you're correct and I'm retarded.
>>288228807mo
I'm catching up and I swear I'm trying my best, but everything is so contrived and there's so many twists that I'm losing track. So a couple of questions for anyone who can answer:>Does any BO member other than Vermouth and Bourbon know that Akai is alive?>Does Akai know that Bourbon/Amuro is Public Security Intelligence Agency?>Does Bourbon/Amuro know that Akai is FBI?This is the one I'm almost sure he doesn't know>Does Amuro know who Conan is?Why hasn't Vermouth told him?
>>288238765Bourbon knows. I don't think Vermouth knows. If she does, it would be part of her anti-BO master plan to keep quiet about it.Yes.Yes.No, he will actually find that out much later. As far as we know, Vermouth doesn't know Amuro is a double agent (she might suspect though). Since Vermouth puts her hopes into Conan, it's only natural she will not be sharing around his weak points.
>>288208038So the nue is like a lamer manticore? For some reason Wikipedia says it's also called the Japanese chimera, but no, I think a manticore is a better fit
>>288238924I noticed too late I haven't elaborated well... Amuro knows Conan is behind Sleeping Kogoro (doesn't take much skill to figure that out, honestly), but he will take longer to realize Conan=Shinichi.
>>288208772Disgusting nails
>>288211406Same, I'm really glad he wasn't the culprit

>>288229011Didn't we already get a really similar page to this one? Or maybe it was that an anon posted it on some other thread?
>>288229159Is Kogoro the only recurrent character in KK cases which he hasn't disguised himself as yet? As far as I remember he has impersonated Ran, Sonoko, Jirokichi, Nakamori, Shinichi, Agasa and I think Sonoko's father? Even Sera, Shiho and Genta. I think Kazuha in a movie or a special? I would like to see him as Heiji sometime.
>>288240715He disguised himself as Kogoro in the Golden Mansion case.>I would like to see him as Heiji sometime.Yeah, that sounds fun.
