I've been brainstorming a manga concept and wanted to get some feedback. The plot follows a monkey boy who gets dragged out of the woods by a teenager to find wish granting balls. He spends his youth beating up an entire army, furries, and ayylmaos. As an adult, he learns he's an alien himself, so he dyes his hair blonde to fight space landlords, robots and humanoid bugs. He dies, revives, saves the world from a sentient piece of pink chewing gum, and ends it by abandoning his family to train a village kid.Let me know what you guys think!
>>288237085OP has been making a new thread for each year since 1970Frankly at least its something kinda new so I ain't gonna report or nothing
Only thing I watch is Tekkaman.
>>288237103China has been in the news a lot lately and the Hong Kong manhua and action movie scene is blowing up a lot lately, so I think you should work in something from there into your story. Maybe something with the 8 Immortals? Keep thinking about it.
>>288237054Dudes. I found him. The next Tezuka. The New Tezuka. This kid, Katsuhiro Otomo, I've never seen anything like it. The aesthetic, the paneling style, the types of stories. He's an absolute genius in the making. Get on his stuff now, and get ahead of the bandwagon. Give it a couple of years and he'll be a household name for generations. I guarantee that.
>>288237054So now that Kamui is gone and Garo is basically dead, does adult manga have a future?
When are we getting 2007?

>>288241099Can you believe they're now airing the Grendizer crap instead? Who wants a wimp like Duke Freed as the protagonist? Bring back Kouji and Tetsuya.
>>288237054Flanders no Inu is a work of art and one of the best series of all time. What it lacks in technical finesse compared to Miyazaki, Takahata or Dezaki's work in the genre, it makes up for by taking on the heaviest themes, with that sensibility only 70s anime had. It's distilled WMT.Toei was past its golden age but they still had talented people and the guts to do a dark Little Mermaid film, that doesn't erase its essential romanticism.Mizu no Tane is frankly much better than a lot of Okamoto shorts that get pushed in selections of his work. It's one of his best and the easily the most underrated along with the puppet short of the next year Chikara Bashi which got overshadowed by Kawamoto being the goat.Tekkaman is a fun, manly action show with deranged plots and cool visuals. And Gamba is just obligatory for Dezaki fans.Based on this I'd say it was a fine year and deserves more subtitles.
