Sooo... I started Naruto around two years ago, mostly following the manga and occasionally changing to the anime or Rebuild of Naruto when a cool fight or moment seemed to go to happen (the end of the Zabuza arc, some fights in the Chunin exams, Naruto vs Sasuke, etc.)But around the start of the Ninja War it started to drag, even with Rebuild of Naruto everything was kind of boring. So yeah, I stopped at around 527, I'll be continuing alongside the daily now. Hopefully reading only one chapter doesn't burn me out as much as it did before.Also, any specially good episodes of the anime to watch before reading the chapter it is adapting?

Got more than 100k words in itAnother fic was based on the illusory world of the road to ninja movie, but playing on the theme of major personality traits being reversed, Minato and Kushina would end up being cowards (or at least branded so for defying orders) that would then be executed. Menma would grow to hate his parents, and strive to become the strongest so as to wash away the shame, only to end up also defying orders for the sake of love (kinda wishy-washy). This one ended up having 80k words.In the end I never published either though, partly because i left them unfinished, partly because the various fanfiction sites are filled with complete faggots and i dont want to deal with them. I will say that coming up with character interactions/dialogue/fights/comedic scenes etc was very fun, but it also reminded me that it would be much better if i could just draw manga. A lot of fanfics focus on things that don't make a shonen a shonen.If it was up to me, I'd focus on clan politics and how a village balances a variety of clans and non clan entities. Clan politics are one of the most overlooked things in this series.Aside from that I'd also have the jinchuriki treated like actual WMDs. Haku was Light Speed ONLY when jumping mirror to mirror, gradually got slower as he wasted chakra, and only got hit when he left the mirrors for the ground to directly attack the boys.
