>>288759316>got into Berserk in late 2016>miura died in 2021>i've been into it for more time with miura dead than aliveTime truly flies when you're a f/a/gAnywatly, I didn't liked the new chapter at first, but after discussing it, I grew to really liked it. It's not like Guts was special or a chosen one, but more like he was "forgotten" by fate and casuality, which in turn gave him the power to change, he became a rogue variable in the Godhand script for mankind, which he always was, I think it was properly foreshadowed looking back in the series.
>>288759316I agree with you Anon, people who complain about Chosen One bullshit simply don't understand the manga. This chapter is something that feels like a really important plot point Miura crafted and truly told Mouri a lot about. It is as good as the best parts of the manga. And if you read between the lines you can see chapters like this have a ton of care, while the rest do feel like they just have "They went from point A to point B" but not exactly all the story texture from getting there. I think that's why they are so inferior.
>>288761968>By himself? Are you this dense? You know goddamn well that Guts is carrying a behelit. >it's his own thoughts/hallucinationThat's the shadow that he grapples with, you skullknight tards can't understand that the allegory and themes are also literal. It's tied together because this is a fantasy world where monsters are real and Guts has more capacity than most to become a monster because the monster already exists inside him looking for an escape valve.

>>288760097Mood-breaking references have started around the time Guts received his new armor from Flora. Later there were more of them during the Boat arc, and this shit reached critical level of clownery (Star Wars shitposting, but in a manga) on the Elf Island.
>>288759547Miura probably didn't plan out every random gag he'd throw into each page, so the new team had nothing to work with, so just threw them out entirely.
>>288763209His art was very pretty and detailed, but I can't get why some people call him the most talented mangaka. Do they not know other manga authors? >>288760718Guts is not the only guy to use oversized weaponry in this series. One of Farnese's knights had that massive iron polearm, and Boscogn (the Purple Rhino knight guy) had a great axe the size of a tree. Guts is the strongest man alive, but by degree, not kind.
>>288763280Art isn't about releasing more products. I have no idea what Miura thought of Berserk before he died, but I do know that he never let a page cross his desk without drawing as much as he could on it.

I've been a Berkfag for a very long time, but I think that at some point Miura should've just focused on one-shot manga and finished Berserk, all while shifting into typical artistic craftsmanship. Art exhibitions or not, the world of manga was something that began to limit his artistic capabilities at some point.
>>288763438If you don't think an art form is art then you have no business pretending to discuss this in good faith.

>>288763540Being a perfectionist is not autistic.
Wait theres actually people who still dont get that Berserk is about the eternal fight between determinism(godhands) and randomness(gus/skull knight), if one side completely destroys the other then the world ends since the world cannot be purely determined nor purely random alone due to inherent limitations in reality itself
>>288763455Unless you own stock in the publisher, why would that bother you?The joy of Berserk was not about racing to the finale.

>>288761312It's what gives him the unique quality of being just outside of the tide of the idea of evil's plan for all reality, ie, causality. He's still a fish swimming against the ocean, he's very much affected by the ebb and flow, and it's brought him to death's door plenty, but he's the only one who isn't bound directly to it, and can cause disturbances because of it as long as he continues to survive, and that's always been the case.

That’s just a shitty thing that happened to him. This is about Guts as a character and a person not some powerscaling bullshit. Get a grip.
>>288763598It's law vs chaos, but fated suffering vs self-determinism and the potential for happiness if you fight for it tooth and nail. Guts is supposed to fight against fate hard enough to actually threaten the cosmic balance that is All Things Must Suffer. The very purpose of the Idea of Evil is to be wrong and the primary enemy, even Griffith is just a pawn in that plan. Guts entire existence is to disrupt the flow, eventually largely enough to outperform the influence on the world that Griffith, the very instrument of destined pain and suffering, can manifest. That's likely the intended endgame we'll never really get. The sum of Guts influence over hell on earth to the people eventually giving the whole world enough belief that good can exist despite living in hell to either undo the idea of evil or more likely balance it out with a similar collective consciousness created concept like the idea of good. People probably don't want to accept that the idea at the end of the day was to balance yin and yang to create a more harmonious universe.

The chapter is about how he CAN fight Griffith NOT about how he was DESTINED to fight Griffith. >But Guts can't even touch Griffith during their last encounterThat because guts was deadnaming Griffith, that's not his name anymore.
>>288766251The point is that it's unearned. The circumstances of his birth is why he has a chance, not anything he himself did.
>>288766340>The circumstances of his birth is why he has a chance, not anything he himself did.Goddamn speedreader, the point is that he has been struggling even before his own birth. He willed himself to be birthed instead of dying in his mother's womb like he should be. That is the ultimate struggle and he passed that. That's the whole point of this chapter, Guts is the ultimate struggler who has fought for his life since even before he took breath, not because fate birthed him from a dead woman's womb. Thus as his existence is already outside fate itself, he can fight the god hand who wield over fate if he wanted to.

>>288763280>>288763345You idiots keep ignoring the times he just blatantly reused pngs of his characters in multiple panels at the elf island.
>>288768109>spirituality of life and deathOooooh, so deep, bro. You are so versed. Let's forget that both life and death lie completely within the grips of causality>We've known about the extraordinary circumstances of Guts's birth for agesAnd it was never anything improtant until now. A bit strange isn't it?>Grade school levels of reading comprehension>Look, mom, I'm projecting againg!>>288767933
>>288768143>The chapter confirmedIt's a fanfic. It can't confirm anything>Guts has ALWAYS been in the intersticeThe actual manga states the opposite. With the clear text. You would know if you've ever read it>inner demons = literal demonsSo this is the power of moricucks>because that fierceness is what he draws upon for his incredible feats.>he's stronk and angwy that means that the demon actually existsEvery argument is better than the last one
So is it inevitable Guts will have to become an apostle become the Beast of Darkness?
I don't care about post-Miura Berserk and I wasn't interested in Berserk post-Eclipse (I couldn't care less about Casca and her damsel ass), but people are taking it as Guts is the chosen one when it's the opposite, he was never supposed to exist.
>>288768234Actually guts using the astral power of the interstice will get a super cool power up that makes his hair change color, also he will defeat Griffith using the power of friendship spirit. It was actually foretold by miura in this panel.
>>288768327It's because of this page people started being annoying, see >>288760171
>>288768327>chosen one when it's the opposite, he was never supposed to existIn a universe where every human is bound by fate, being unbound by fate bacause of your birth makes you a chosen one or an equivalent of one, if you care so much about semantics>he was never supposed to existMoricuck...
Please for the love of fucking God someone please just end the nightmare. Miura is dead, Berserk is dead. None of this is canon. I wont take it if this ends with Guts killing Griffith with the power of friendship. Fucking disgrace and a complete bastardization to the themes of Berserk.
>>288768234I’ve shitposted it years before that Guts is destined to become a hellhound that will be stuck fighting in hell. Seems like this is going to be true in some way.

>>288768445>Guts killing Griffith with the power of friendshipGuts will kill Griffith with the newfound power of his special birth. Is it better?
>>288760097This little shit helped ruin the series, never needed a Shonen kid element to the series.
>>288768459>depths of human nature>history and the spiral of fate>religion.
>>288768423I don't know where this thing about Guts being "unbound" by fate comes from. All that was ever said is that he can defy it and potentially change small details which gives him an advantage against the God Hand, who can envision the grand scheme at play but not necessarily every little detail of it, since they're not actually gods.
>>288768482I would rather prefer it if he pulls a Shin Angyo Oshi end to the villain rather than Guts summoning the spirit of his friends for a power boost to defeat the villain.
>>288768512>I would rather prefer it if he pulls a Shin Angyo Oshi end to the villainMiura already said that wouldn't happen. Guts will get a "happy" ending because of how much shit he's been put through as a character. Of course it won't be that happy because of how much he's lost but the best under the circumstances.
>>288768495Idolmaster broke Miura from his edgy phase. If I could go back in time one time, I would have slapped the shit out of Miura when he started becoming obsessed with Idolmaster.
>>288768504Power of friendship is also a theme in this story.
>>288768529He didnt. He only said it was possible. It could still be a bad ending or a good ending depending on what Miura had in mind during that time.
>>288768562He literally says there that he doesn't think he could let the story end like that. It's pretty obvious he was becoming more of a positive vibes guy as he aged anyways, with all the light hearted gags added in.
>>288768423>In a universe where every human is bound by fate, being unbound by fate bacause of your birth makes you a chosen one or an equivalent of oneThe Berserk universe clearly set up the godhands as the chosen ones, they're the very expression of causality itself. Guts goes in the complete opposite direction, as someone who should have died from the get go, he isn't bound by fate and instead is free to forg his own path. There's a massive leap from being a chosen one to being an anomaly.
>>288768478Instead Mori is living rent free in your head day and night poking at whatever serves as a brain.
>>288768509>I don't know where this thing about Guts being "unbound" by fate comes fromFrom Morikeks>All that was ever said is that he can defy it and potentially change small detailsRight. But the important thing is why he can do it. And the manga is not vague about this at all
>>288768581>”With a grim ending like say having him die suddenly”Please learn how to read. He didnt specifically say that he was going to have the ending be “happy” its just that he is undecided. Who the fuck knows what Miura considers as a good ending or a bad ending. For all we know Guts defeats Griffith but at the cost of his own life is the good ending or Guts just gives up and finally accepts that its better to let go of hatred and desire for revenge.
>>288768594MORI GET OUT OF MY HEAD REEEEEE BERSERK ENDED WHEN THEY GOT OFF THE BOAT.
>>288768623If Guts dies, I don't see how that's not a grim ending. Like, he's literally doing it all to protect Casca and live a life with her. He's not some hero who wants to put an end to Griffith to save the world at the cost of his own life or anything. That's never been him. He just wants to be rid of Griffith who obviously will always get between him and Casca and will never let him live in peace.
>>288767767This kinda thinking is why Trump and Maga are the ones ruining the world, and Andrew Tate is a faggot aka Charlie Kirk, take you fake masculinity incel ass to church?
>>288768623Also Guts already gave up on revenge in favor of restoring Casca's mind and living with her. But you can't have peace with Griffith.
that shit has become so fucking gay. Berserk died with Miura. May he rest in peace
>>288768234Until this point Guts only knew of two paths to power, one via the Godhand that he loathes to become an apostle, which the beast has tempted him with in despair. The other path is of the berserker armor, and that path is now being closed off because of his declining health and increasing debilitation. Once Guts' physicality began to fail him he started getting intrusive thoughts again about the behelit. The stage after the berserker armor is to get his soul shoved into armor like skull knight. Thematically neither of these are the correct path for Guts since even the strongest apostle ever, Ganishka, was nothing but a tool for the Godhand, and Skull Knight also achieved fucking nothing after spending about a millennia trying to accrue some tricks to challenge the Godhand. The intervention of Flora and possibly other astral entities in the near future will mean that the beast of darkness can be utilized in a different way that lets it be expressed without overwhelming Guts. I think that Guts is going to get rejuvenated into a bestial warrior who doesn't need the berserker armor. >gets new beast eye and arm to replace his human ones>evocative of berserkers wearing pelts into battle
>>288768716her ass is going to be enormous when she grows up
>>288768716
>>288768662Well you clearly dont know what a grimdark ending is. Who said Guts is some hero? Guts has never let go of his hatred for Griffith, he always wanted revenge and closure. Casca is just a convenient reason for him to continue on living. Elf island was about him contemplating on giving up his hatred and settling for a peaceful life but he realised that both him and Griffith are always going to be intertwined by fate just like Skull Knight is with Void. It will only end with one of them being dead or both of them dying.
>>288768730I hope so

But if Guts dies in the process, it's really a failure on his part because his goal is to just live a decent life with family and friends, rather than take out Griffith.Griffith only needs to be taken out because he constantly gets between that

Are the elves and white magic witches finally dead? I dropped it when the series stopped with the plot progression and had more screentime of random bitches the panderloli than any of the other characters save for Guts maybe. Maybe I should pick this up again. Tragically, the last few chapters Miura drew before he died and the fan sequel afterwards both look way better than any of the things Miura has drawn between 2010 and few months before his death. Maybe mangaka should just allow themselves to take proper breaks and draw something completely different sometimes. I doubt that I could draw the same series for 30 years straight without losing my soul over it.

>>288771559How would you assign each of these to the different arcs?
>>288769871>this doesn’t fit Berserk’s tone at all.The grimdark horror is really only a small part of Berserk. Miura told a story about the deepest depths of hell and healing, or at least moving on from them, through companionship. That's already the essence of the golden age. The difference between golden age and his new companions is that Guts was still very self centered so the interactions we see with the Band of the Hawk are largely superficial. His companions aren't really explored that well. Once he finds new companions there is a much larger focus on them, their contributions to Guts and his contributions to their growth. I believe that Miura wanted to show with this that Guts has learned not to take the people he loves for granted but to appreciate them much more actively. More like a family rather than just acquaintances.
>>288771718Oh hey, a smart person who actually gets it. Amazing.

Hell, even if Guts was a "chosen one" - which he isn't techncally - this is a trope that has existed for thousand years in all sort of genres. >There are many people with better genetics than him.Not really, at least not since the Eclipse where his biggest strenght feats are. > His training (and latter the brand) is what made him the strongestNothing contradicts it. >But he didn't. How is this even an argument?Because you are attempting to downplay his training. If he is a good swordman and fighter, its because he choose to be, not because he was predertermined to be . For some reason this makes the beta rage. EVEN - if he was always magically enhanced since birth (because Miura seems to point that he definitly was later on) - this only happened because his extreme trainign and will to become stronger, because this is how magic works in this setting.>Now he is going. But the whole point of the debate is whether he's been doing it from birth, dum-dumNo, this reply is to you claiming that "everything worked just fine", my point is that this is more like a chess game where a bishop piece is trying to outmaneuver an entire chess board and your enemy is also playing the other pieces of your side.

And his strength didn't have and doesn't require some magical inuniverse explanation, when you look at other characters in the same manga>and not "Guts could choose his path"?Because he couldn't by the manga internal logic >This is not exactly "mature"That's your plebeian tastes speaking>which he isn't techncallyYeah "technically">this is a trope that has existed for thousand years in all sort of genres. And was tired to death and is constantly criticized in many works>Nothing contradicts it.It even makes the retcon redundant and unnecessary>he choose to be, not because he was predertermined to beEverything in his life was predetermined just like in everyone else's lives>you are attempting to downplay his training>if he was always magically enhanced since birthThat's what moricucks believe, not me. I don't get your point>"everything worked just fine"Not "just fine", but exactly how it was preplanned for decades. And Guts was in that plan all along playing the most crucial role. You would know this if you've read the manga with your eyes and not your ass>this is more like a chess game where a bishop piece is trying to outmaneuver an entire chess board and your enemy is also playing the other pieces of your sideSee above. He didn't "outmaneuver" shit. In fact any choice he could have made differently would completely obliterate the prophecy. But it was never an option. Gods don't gamble. If Guts was such a wildcard, they would kill him, replace his with someone else or shape Griffith's fate completely differently. But they didn't because Guts was in their full control

Being branded is a curse that had a positive side effect. It's balanced just like the berserker armor. You are constantly haunted by ghosts, have a booked cauldron in hell, but in return you have the not so OP benefits of living in the interstice. And there's the fact Guts and Casca weren't supposed to survive the Eclipse, Skull Knight saved them. >>288779769>>Guts has ALWAYS been in the intersticeGood job, you found one I guess. The rest of those aren't claiming that he lived in the interstice. The "born in the interstice" statements are supported by Skull Knight explicitly stating "You're born from death thus you excel at escaping it". Death and the Astral Realm are synonymous in Berserk and it is the source of magic. The claims about wether or not he existed outside of fate or wasn't supposed to be born are unsupported. We have no idea wether or not Guts was part of the plan or a rougue factor that had to be worked around. There's a strong argument that Griffith would have fell into despair regardless since his own ambition carried him along the way and Guts only acted as a supportive factor. Neither of those are important to wether or not Guts had special abilities due to his unusual birth.>If he's challanged by mere humans 1vs1, how can he be special from BIRTH?Growth, anon. >>288780047>There's a strong argument that Griffith would have fell into despair regardless since his own ambition carried him along the way and Guts only acted as a supportive factor.I guess I could elaborate on this since it's actually somewhat interesting. It is pretty reasonable to assume that he existed outside of fate and the IoE had to find a work around because Guts allowed Griffith to reach his goal without any sacrifices. With Guts Griffith was capable of killing the Queen and all his other enemies without repercussions. None of his other assets could have accomplished that. With time the king would have been pressured from numerous sides to finally find a husband for his daughter and Griffith would have undoubtedly been a prime candidate. The king's chance of going mad would have also been much less likely since the sudden shock of the betrayal wouldn't have occured. Without Guts Griffith likely would have had to rely on the Behelith for the last step in all cases. Wether or not Guts leaving was preordained or a lucky break for the IoE is of course pure speculation.

>>288780047>The rest of those aren't claiming that he lived in the intersticeThey are by the fact of defending the chapter that claims it. They just word it differently like Guts being born special or out of fate, which is the same thing in the context of the chapter>Skull Knight explicitly stating "You're born from death thus you excel at escaping it"There's nothing confirming his place in the interstice unlike the pages I've posted. The only thing it says is that Guts should be good at escaping death as if he's predestined to do so, which is quite the opposite of being born out of fate/the interstice. The rest is your speculations and headcanon>Death and the Astral Realm are synonymous in BerserkWhat? And YOU were accusing me of not backing up my arguments? Lmao>The claims about wether or not he existed outside of fate or wasn't supposed to be born are unsupported.Yes, but the opposite claims are>We have no idea wether or not Guts was part of the planYou don't, because you didn't read the manga >There's a strong argument that Griffith would have fell into despair regardless since his own ambition carried him along the way and Guts only acted as a supportive factor>>288773132>Not "just fine", but exactly how it was preplanned for decades. And Guts was in that plan all along playing the most crucial role. You would know this if you've read the manga with your eyes and not your ass>See above. He didn't "outmaneuver" shit. In fact any choice he could have made differently would completely obliterate the prophecy. But it was never an option. Gods don't gamble. If Guts was such a wildcard, they would kill him, replace his with someone else or shape Griffith's fate completely differently. But they didn't because Guts was in their full control>Neither of those are important to wether or not Guts had special abilities due to his unusual birth. Those "special abilities" would mean they wouldn't be able control him like an average mortal

Guts playing the part = Griff gets wrecked and becomes a demonGuts doesn't play the part = Griff gets wrecked and becomes a demon >His magic didn't increase since his previous fights with Griffith and Boscogn. It was never there in the first placeAlso dumb. We have a character commenting that Guts can perhaps tap on that magic to increase his strenght - it doesn't mean he has done it in every single fight, or with the same extend. Again, with willpower = magic in the setting, its a case of "if Guts is really fucking mad and determined in thid fight, he might become stronger". Its unironically closer to how d&d uses barbarian rage.

>>288780769The human brain LIVES to see patterns. When you surprise the reader with something they didn't see coming, there needs to be a lead-up to that revelation that seems obvious in hindsight. The eclipse comes out of left field, but the story has been teasing it the whole time. They show you the behelit, they show you supernatural entities, they show Griffith's motivations, and when everything comes together it's the culmination and resolution of 70-something chapters that you watched unfold.Pre- and post-eclipse hasn't built up his birth as anything more than a rough start to a rough life. Post-eclipse has been working with comradery, cooperation, adventuring, magical artifacts, people and events that are far bigger than the main character. To be satisfying, you would draw from one of those for the climax of your story. Berserker armor powerup, borrowing SK's behelit sword, power of friendship team-up fight, killing enough apostles that the dragonslayer becomes magical, learning godhand killing jutsu from someone powerful, the brand allowing Guts to overcome fate; any of these would fit the themes and resolve the story, some better than others.Imagine if Ashita no Joe culminated in Joe remembering something that happened off-screen before the story started and won the fight easily. It would be a wet fart ending at-odds with the rest of the narrative's themes of hard work, overcoming yourself, and self-destruction.

Maybe not as much as someone who personally knew him, like a friend or lover would, but as much sadness as a fan grieving an author could feel. But the humor in Berserk post GA is undoubtedly, unquestionably, easily the WORST part of the series and genuinely brings it down, makes me cringe, and want to fucking yell at Miura for being a fucking moron every time I see it. Like it wouldn't be bad if it was funny. I wouldn't mind it. But it isn't. It's always the most mindless, cringe inducing, mood shattering, HORRIBLY executed gags and always drawn in some of the most unpleasant, ugly looking and unpleasant art Miura ever drew. It's a blatant insult to Miura himself to have included them because they're genuinely terrible, and every author has their weakness; humor is most certainly Miura's. Love Berserk, but jesus FUCKING christ he was an idiot for doing this so stupidly and never improving on it. It even follows into other works of his like Gigantomachia or whatever it was called. Rest in peace, but for fucks sake, you couldn't have learned how to be funny at least ONCE?
>>288782240I thought he did a decent job introducing some humor to a grim series for most of its existence, but he just lost his mind with isidro and chestnut puck. Like early puck and band of hawk shenanigans and the occasional guts jape at his absurd circumstances weren't so bad, it helped build rapport between those characters in a believable way.I don't think Berserk would've worked if it was 100% grim and edgy, it needed some levity, just not as much as it had later on
>>288781536>it doesn't matter if Guts' experience was authentic all along and there's no problem with this deeply retarded chosen one retconthe struggle is diminished by some hidden ability that was there from the start and which is responsible for his success idk how retards think they can argue this, Guts is the struggler and now we're being told actually he has some advantage from birth that enabled him this whole time lul this whole struggling shit is secondary it's bad writing
>>288782401I'll even go as far as to say I don't mind Isidro as a character, but it's clear that he's only in the story mainly as a brevity inducing character to balance Guts' darkness, which is fine, except he doesn't even go through much character development and feels like an afterthought for a majority of his time in the manga, which doesn't apply to other characters like Serpico, Schierke, Farnese. Even when Schierke has her moe moments, they're always tolerable; it's typically Isidro and Puck having the worst fucking moments in the series.
>>288782240My guy, mango is entertainment at the end of the day. That doesn't exclude being good, but it is primarily a form of entertainment.
>>288782596You're a bit stupid aren't you?
I was an avid defender of the art for, like, the first 2 chapters after the Griffith-crying one. But it's just so fucking bad. The long limbs and facial expressions are the worst part.Compare gut Soijack face here >>288760068 to this panel from the Golden Age.
For anyone who doesn't get it, Guts is going through the same thing as Bruno Bucciarati, but ten times worse. He was destined to die the day he was born, but somehow defied fate, and is now essentially living in a state between life and death.
>>288782677Two completely different things and you're actually dumb if you think they're the same.
>>288782766Explain. Both were fated to die, defied death, and are essentially walking corpses. The way Jojo's EXPRESSES this is different (Bruno deteriorating) but the overall concept is the same.
>>288782589I think Isidro could've been fine as an apprentice who learns from Guts along the way. He has a few moments early on that indicated he'd become a useful support member. But that's not really what Miura had in mind. Isidro and Guts barely have a relationship. He does make me laugh though merely because of how absurd his presence is in the same franchise that had the Eclipse
>>288782792The difference is that Bruno was never predestined to defy death; he simply does it because he wills himself to. It's not because he is "special" or "chosen", just a simple trope of human willpower and the spirit surviving impossible odds. Kamina does the same thing in Gurren Lagann. This writes as being CHOSEN to defy death and be better at every turn, when that was never presented as such before. Retards keep referencing text that say "oh guts is abnormal, look how much of a monster he is, look how much interest skull knight and the god hand have in him" when that is the POINT. He is SUPPOSED to be a tragic character, born from the womb of a corpse, on a desolate field beneath a tree of death, that's meant to depict how utterly fucked and cruel the world of Berserk is. He experiences terrible things, and survives, and has trauma from it, and makes mistakes, but he KEEPS going, he learns to love and to fight for people he cares for, he keeps stumbling even if he wants to go insane because that is the POINT. Him wielding the Dragonslayer is the point of Guts, the fact that no one seemingly "could", and yet he DID, because his goals mean that much to him that he WILL defy what is seemed as normal to achieve his goals and to become stronger. That's why he trained like a madman, why he attached a fucking CANNON to his arm, why he dons the Berserk Armor, for fucks sake, it's just an allegory for the human condition and the human spirit. HIS NAME IS GUTS FOR FUCKS SAKE, LIKE SHOWING SOME GUTS/SPIRIT. Him being predestined spits in the face of Berserk's entire story.
>>288783377And before some retard says "he's named Guts because of him being found from Guts!" I fucking know that, but double entendres exist for a reason.
>>288782401Miura has some of same sense of humor, which is that it's really subtle and relies on awkwardness. It's not the type where you laugh out loud. I don't think the Star Wars shit is funny though, it's a little too Disney/pure for me.
>>288783403He's named for Gotz von Berlichingen, a historical figure. Any relation to a mondern american colloquialism is coincidence, sorry to say.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%B6tz_von_Berlichingen
I don't get how he has so many fans, he's a literal rapist.
>>288782669I don't think it's that bad, never was, but it surely has weird looking panels. Some face expression of Guts have looked off, and if we're talking about this chapter alone, his cut off arm looked wacky.
>>288760068Where is Donovan? He played a huge role in Guts' trauma and shit, same with Gambino. Where are they?
What happened to the hermaphrodite shota manga?
>>288783637Aureola effect, basically. He's a pretty, feminine-looking guy with charisma. A bishounen-type. Therefore, even if he did way worse things than guys like Donovan or Wyald, sissy fans are gonna defend him, pretend that his actions "were actually deep" (well, he surely dicked Casca deep, kek), and will never try to silence anyone mentioning his name.
>>288783686Duranki? Canceled, with the story left unfinished. The last volume featured the last chapters made by Miura and some images that may suggest what kind of stuff was planned to be featured (in example, amazons).
>>288783603Yes yes, the Gotz theory, I heard it before. That shit is irrelevant. You get the idea.
>>288759316what ch
>>288783696>worse things than WyaldIt's amazing how this is actually a debatable topic, I think Wyald is just as bad if not worse thab Griffith.
>>288783797>theoryYour confidence is admirable.
Guts has always clearly been an inhuman monster. He is a beast that tamed itself by its desire to be human like the other humans. It is why, at his worst moments, when he is alone and enraged, he lets the monster out. Without anyone to put on the mask for, even himself, he becomes the monster he as always really been. But the chapter was incredibly heavy-handed and explained in words what should have continued to be shown.
>>288783857You do realize that if this was the case Miura would've said so himself, right?
>>288784020https://x.com/matiasbergara
>>288783717That's a shame. I hadn't read about the amazon trap isekai before.
>>288783507Pretty much. Some of the situations Guts finds himself in are clearly meant to be humorous even if they're also very grim. The Isidro stuff just became too on the nose. However I do think he intentionally made Elf Island a lighthearted pit stop before pulling the rug with Griffith's. It's really a shame that we didn't get to see what he had in store. He had built up a lot of characters that would've likely been taken out in dramatic ways
>>288784021Shit, you're right. The name and prosthetic arm design must be a red herring. What did the author say about his influences when designing the character?
>>288784159Unless he mentioned Gotz by name explicitly, it doesn't matter.
>>288782454>diminishedHow?
>>288783826Wyald was a violent, sex-obsessed psycho with huge powertrip ego, but what makes Griffith worse is that he could harm legions of people even on spiritual level and it didn't feel like doing anything wrong for him. Compare a genocider (Griffith) to one of thugs who perform this genocide (Wyald).
>>288783377>CHOSENBy who
>>288784059Duranki had a lot of lolishit retardation in its first chapters, but as the story progressed, it became better and more story-oriented (in contrary to "lolishit Miura likes" stuff).
>>288784269Wyald killed and maimed babies, dude. Come on.
>>288784282The universe/destiny/astral being or whoever that bitch is that talks to Guts in the latest chapter.
>>288784255As we all know, Japanese artists are known for keeping diligent records of their inspirations and especially being forthcoming about them. Surely there's some record of what he's said on the subject.
>>288783377>He is SUPPOSED to be a tragic characterAnd this makes him one. Before, by what you are saying, his entire life was by design and none of the involved had a choice. Thanks to this latest chapter, now Guts actually struggled like a normal person without predestination and fate controling his actions.>Him wielding the Dragonslayer is the point of Guts, the fact that no one seemingly "could", and yet he DID, because his goals mean that much to him that he WILL defy what is seemed as normal to achieve his goals and to become stronger.Yes, and his goal and will was so strong that it affected reality and made him do the impossible. The reasoning and endgame is the same, you just get mad arbitrarily. >"He just WILLS a lot, and his WILL defeats the MAGIC WILL that the guys MANIPULATING REALITY use, but like IN A NOT SUPERNATURAL WAY">it's just an allegory for the human condition and the human spirit. Even more now that we know he was not bound by fate!
>>288784337>The universe/destiny/These fall under IOE and the entire point is that Guts is not bound by it.>whoever that bitch is Are you just a narutofag or do you read this manga?
>>288784378Kino.
>>288784313Griffith led to entire nations being wiped out by fantastic monsters appearing out of nowhere. Like I said, the difference lies in capabilities. Think of, I don't know, Hitler and brutal SS officer. Hitler didn't kill people with his hands unlike the SS officer, but does it make him less evil and shit? Same with Griffith (Hitler) and Wyald (SS officer).
I hope Griffith gets redeemed.
>>288784340Yeah. It's up to you to produce the proof. So post it or fuck off and be known as an autistic schizophrenic who lost the argument.
>>288784467Agree. I hope they hug it out.
>>288784474Boy, you sure showed me. I'm convinced!
>>288784467>>288784491I hope he gets redeemed by a good anal session given by berserk Guts.
>>288784371>being half astral makes him tragic actuallyJust say you don't like the story man.
>>288784474>proofAre you yelling "muh prooooooof" at anyone who says anything, even the most basic fact? Are you mentally challenged?
>>288784494I accept your concession.
You have to be REALLY retarded to see the plot point: "actually your actions are not chosen for you or part of a great plan, but all yours, since you were born" and think "CHOSEN ONE! CHOSEN ONE! "Its literally the opposite.
I'm very happy that there's rape because it prevents the worst of the worst coming to the fanbase.
>>288784546Nu-Berk fans, so mostly Covid tourists or sissies of the old who got vocal on Pleddit, are doing their best to gaslight people that rape isn't actually an important element of Berserk and that anyone who says otherwise is "idiot who should seek help". You can only praise how symbolic the dicking of Casca is, that's all.
>>288784452Wyald was basically just a local scumbag with low ambition. The God Hand are basically the apex of evil, who are responsible for a thousand Wyalds or more
>>288784571How could they even do that?
>>288784561Are you stupid on purpose or are you just naturally like that?

>>288784600Exactly.>>288784606Retards in charge surrounded with retards, plus Pleddit or trannycord environment to silence anyone who discusses Berserk differently to said retards.
>>288784622We don't do that here.
>>288766885>I can see maybe his eye and arm growing back as a result but I don't know how I feel about hiving him a power up from this spiritual transformationI mean even before Miura died something was gonna have to give on that front since I could swear there were panels of him struggling to hold the sword up even when "healthy".
