The quality of the fighters is a lot lower and looks more like a beginning arc. The entire worm plot has just come screeching to a halt for these fights so it's not like they couldn't have done all of this first before they got the ball rolling with that plotline. Some small adjustments would have been necessary but these fights would be so much cooler if we didn't just watch 16+ other fighters in action who all would have won this tournament in the previous arc.
