There's nothing bad or that I dislike about the season so far but I also feel like it lacks a bit of oomph, so to speak? This far in Idol had me more invested than I am now. The main plot point of time displacement is mostly pushed aside and the character drama that could result from it largely ignored. It feels like we don't really get much focus on the two leads and learning about their lives because we can't address the elephant in the room of them probably being mother and daughter. The generals are nice but they don't really interact with each other, mostly just with Arcana. Arcana's relationship with Eclair is actually the part that feels like it has the most narrative weight so far and I hope it's done well in this arc, but I still feel like Star Twinkle runs laps around this if we're comparing episodes so far. Not a whole lot has happened and I hope the second half of the show actually shakes things up. At least the jewels were properly and thoroughly set up as a plot point so we understand what both sides are doing and why, unlike Idol.

My schizo theory is that everything adds up to Eclair being all and none of the four girls simultaneously. Luluka believes she's dead dead. It would make no sense for her to straight up be any of them when Luluka would know, never mind all the evidence against them individually on top of that. But for a moment it looked like the writer girl recognised the butterfly. I propose that shattering the big jewel also physically shattered Eclair herself. Luluka saw her break apart. But the resulting spirit energy butterflies she was broken into penetrated the four girls and now each one secretly has a piece of her inside, likely without knowing so, and she will return when they're all together or something. Thus she is literally going to emerge from all four of them as her shattered parts combine again (possibly tied to the jewel itself being reconstructed too), and let's be honest the prophecy about her return makes no damn sense in universe if she just is one of the four when the whole grouping is otherwise just a meta thing. This also has the benefit of going "you were all correct" to all the kids who voted regardless of what they picked.
