Usual pace is 2 chapters per episode, so that means 12 episodes to adapt 15 episodes of content, meaning a total of 6 chapters cut if they ended right at Kishika's intro, if they stretch it out a bit longer yeah might be closer to cutting 8 (some may not be cut, just shortened and combined with others)

Keep in mind each episode also needs to work as an actual episode, while they werent really a thing at this point stuff like the daily life chapters, meta chapters, etc. don't really need to be in the anime, and the chapters that do get combined often need to connect together in some way.

None of the chapters skipped have been a big deal. Pentarou and Mei's Great Gift Offensive. Good chapters, but not crucial to Kusuri or Mei's character.

Funny thing is, I said a long time ago that Season 3 of the anime would be the most troubled because, Rentarou forgive me, it would introduce a fairly weak on average roster of GFs (Chiyo, Naddy, Yamame, Momiji, Yaku), with only Naddy and Yaku having that sorta comedy or shock factor that tends to get people excited on a surface level.
I then said season 4 would, on the other hand, be high kino in having possibly the best possible roster of 5 gfs ever (Kishika, Ahko, Uto, Mai, Momoha).

By introducing 6 gfs in season 3, at the cost of some of the other chapters, yes, they improve the overall quality of the new roster by adding Kishika, essentially speedrunning past the lull-period (Im not necessarily talking about how these gfs are in the story now, but at how exciting and how much they add right away for an anime season), ending strong with Yaku (mostly just because of the shock factor) and Kishika (who has a strong gimmick and many iconic scenes).

Basically Season 3 was always doomed to be the weakest season, and this is a somewhat haphazard way of making it a more exciting season. If they do a Season 4 we all know it would have "our" favorite set of new characters, and offsetting it by one the way they have doesn't change much since it just means Rin gets to be in the mix, another popular character.

I just hope they don't skip the Chiyo-Naddy chapter since that's the first girlfriends-focused chapter if I remember correctly

Feels like the kinda thing someone who has never experienced any adaptation would say.
Something to keep in mind is that you cant just run an anime at 2 chapters per episode and then just cut it off once you hit 12, you need something resembling a conclusion, each episode needs to work on its own (e.g. you could have cases where doing every chapter in batches of 2 splits a 2 chapter arc), you have chapters that have far less content than others regardless of panel count (e.g. chapters where 40% of the chapter content is just full panels of other gfs reacting to something, which can be handled very differently in an anime).
Things need to be changed for flow, things need to be changed for time, and it all needs to be part of a larger picture. Manga fans would love the promise of infinite seasons that just do every chapter panel by panel with some motion and voices, to see their favorite moments, but that's not what's going to make for a good anime for the target audience (people who haven't read the manga, who are being convinced to buy the manga).

The problem the "it doesn't matter if they skip chapters brooo" people are forgetting is that the reason we even care so much is because those skipped chapters are what ultimately make the series so special and meaningful. It was minimal in S1 and S2 but if they skip Iku's date for instance, people who watch the anime feel less connected to Iku and care less about her. The reason we love this series is because it feels like each girl gets adequate focus and no one is ignored, but now that Iku's date is cut, what does she even do this season aside from be a gag character? It makes the GFs feel more like silly funny background side characters instead of actual main characters and love interests. If the anime makes the appeal of the series less prominent, there's no point in having it imo. They could always do a weird number of episodes like 16 to adapt everything, but they didn't.

Anime is made for the casuals. If you like what you're seeing, read the manga for more. The biggest draw of 100 Girlfriends will always be the introduction of new girlfriends. That's what drives viewers and brings in the money. And from there, the new gfs added are further material for future marketing promotions, merchandise, games, etc. You're not seeing a future season with only 2-3 additions regardless of the source material's pacing. New anime seasons are a significant investment and it's highly doubtful we'll be able to continue going at the pace of a new season every other year, so you'd better believe production will make sure it's a big deal whenever it happens.

I may be high on copium but maybe they made the bizarre decision to swap Yaku and Kishika's order. If they did then there wouldn't be as many chapters skipped. They would only need to write out Yaku from Kishika's intro. From the PV is that there's a scene from Kusuri's house before Yaku's zing, but it could also be placed after Kishika's introduction. There's also this in the PV which sorta matches Kishika's breastfeeding reaction, but Kusuri is making Yaku's face and Hakari's reaction is completely different, so it may just be modified to hide Yaku for the PV.

She was a stark reminder that the girls are basically hypnotized into loving rentarou. Most of the cast have plausible deniability but Mai is a straight up raging lesbian that was magicked into loving him.
Overall she's actually just a very strange character to add. In a series about a harem of girls loving you to the max let's include a girl whose gimmick is she already had a same sex love interest for her entire life and she's adverse to the new male love interest and tells him he's second to her. Nakamura was straight up not cooking, there's a number of characters that people just get used to over time because it's already an unserious series and new characters will always get added.

I figured that we'd get a more explicit "girl was sapphic before rentarou showed up" character later down the line but yeah, that pretty much sums up mai. I think they softened that so it doesn't look too bad, giving her a love of mushy shoujo romance amd giving her the pseudo-ikemen flirting chapter. But then again the whole harem is bi so it's not like this was a conscious choice.

In general I expect any really sketchy tropes to be sanded down similarly, because at the end of the day it is a gag manga. He's dating kids but two of them are actually 18+ and one of them is mature for her age, he dates women with families but their old flames are literally dead and buried and one of them didn't even have sex with her man to make her kid. He's dating school staff but none of them are going to criss any truly bad lines. He even got a walmart landmine girl
