Now that I think about it, Silent Majority is very likely a long-range and autonomous or remote-controlled ability. Furykov and Babimyna were actively eyeing other nen users in the room right before it activated, and they would've noticed if someone was outputting enough aura to use an ability like Silent Majority.We also know that it has a few strong restrictions, like it backfiring on the user if it doesn't kill its target, the snakes being visible, and it having to "possess" someone prior to activation. Kurapika beating Uvo as the first spider was stupid. I guess the idea was to show that you can't punch your way out of everything, but the amount of asspull powers Kurapika had to deploy makes it really lame (o my healing thumb!). He developed way too much way too quickly.
