I don't know if this is already a theory, haven't seen anyone else post it, but I think Chrollo's goal is to steal the current king's nen beast.He says he needs to steal the royal treasures to get strong enough to steal the ability he wants, and that just seems kind of weird, but the king's nen beast was empowered by those treasures and the ritual they are connected to. It might anchor the beast to the king in a way he can't pry off without those treasures.And as of the latest chapter, it seems like winning the succession contest enhances the nen beast, or the king's nen otherwise to make the nation prosper. So the king's ability is probably freakishly strong by this point, the kind of thing that could take down Hisoka.It also fits nicely into the idea that it's something strong enough to beat Hisoka, when we haven't seen anything that really stands out in that regard, without also being an ass-pull where some new super powerful anti-Hisoka ability just gets revealed out of nowhere later on.
