To think, if Eddie had simply bodied Raian like the story was clearly building up to, Raian disappearing for 5 arcs to go train in the mountains, and then coming back for a massive grudge match would have not only made sense, it would have had ample build-up for a satisfying resolution. Instead we got our expectations subverted and Eddie died for no reason except to surprise us. Ruining all the tension between the east and west branches for nothing.

You can’t convince me Kaneda would beat guys like Adam or Saw Paing. Guy is Gaolong’s only win so I see why Sandro has to pretend he’s a legit threat against a man who can throw him into the ground. It suits Hatsumi’s gimmick of fighting to the level of his opponent so it’s not bad. I would have done swapped Kaneda with Ohma considering the latter has actual history with Sen. I like the fights but there needs to be actual buildup to it. These guys got some neat backstories back in KAT, I don’t see why you can’t allow a little marinating with the hype. Could have done it while trying to depict Ryuki recover from his trauma. Show Koga actually being a friend for once, since he’s been gimped ever since the Worm almost killed him. Have Koga perhaps fight one of the R1 or R2 fighters from KAT. Ohma farming XP against Kiozan is not the best choice. I thought Koizan looked good against Seki, but you could do more with both. Especially with Ohma no selling his moves.
