It's the great pitfall of the new mangaka not knowing how to starts and withholding all the good shit "for later", which results in all these boring ass first 10 chapters that kill the series; Gonron, Alien Headbutt etc. This is where a good editor comes in.

Why does nobody care about Blue Box ending? Other Jump romance series like Nisekoi and Himaten and Bokuben had way more buzz.

Also personally I didn't like BB's last chapter that much, they offscreened the graduation speech from Hina which would usually be a staple moment for this kind of series and the whole namedrop "this was our blue box" sequence was a bit too corny. Maybe some volume extra could fix it up a bit.

Didn't bother to finish off any of the side characters, didn't bother to really make Taikis Badminton mean anything. Hell, even the relationship side didn't really matter since she just pissess off to America anyway. There's only so much "oh that was cute" interspersed with absolutely nothing filled a manga can live with
