Also, as has been said it's in retrospect a pretty important moment for Rudy and Orsted's relationship, and for both of their development as characters. People don't really talk about Orsted's character development too much because it's pretty subtle, at least until volume 26, but there's little hints of it throughout the latter half of the series. He's essentially a mirror of Rudeus, they've both hit dead ends trying to go it alone. They each learn that true strength lies in making connections with people you can trust, especially when it's not easy, and that you can't take second (or infinite) chances for granted.. It's a great message and way more uplifting than many people give this story credit for.
