I think I cracked the current mechanics and meta of Kengan Omega.Instead of the more balanced and varied/unique builds the fighters were running in Ashura, the meta shift has caused all the top fighters to invest everything into their defense stat to raise their AC as high as possible while trying to increase their 'timing' window as much as possible to fish for 'got the timing right' natural crits which bypass AC.That's why most hits don't do any damage even when they land, because they're not actually high enough to 'scale' the opponent's AC, so their not really doing any damage and the hits are just for flavor.Going for a grapple is a special maneuver where one fighter lowers their opponents AC in exchange for increasing their 'timing' window, which is why a 'got the timing right' hit almost always happens during one of these exchanges.'Principles' are a high level feat that guarantees that your next attack has the timing right and deals damage, 'holding down the point of force' is a feat that allows you to counterattack when your opponent misses their attack with the 'correct' timing.
