>>290508816gray*
>>290508848BAAAAAAAAITO
I think that I would just maeheim them
>>290501092Man reading Meaheim and other manga like it made me realize that all Anomalous Media is either S.T.A.L.K.E.R or SCP>MeaheimSTALKER>Librairy of RuniaSCP>Ghost FixersSCP>Scavengers in Another Sky>STALKER>Ura BaitoSCP>Racoon-san's ApartmentDespite a lot of adventuring and scavenging it's SCP
>>290510576What the fuck is Anomalous Media?
>>290510991Media about anomalies. You know the kinds of fiction where it's about going into areas and dealing with the environment being one giant middle finger to physics and reality like the Zone in STALKER. Alternatively it's dealing with reality warping creatures who are almost all malicious and hand out instant death and fates worse than death like candy at Halloween
>>290510576So the distinction is Containable/predictable anomalies vs Uncontainable/unpredictable anomalies?
>>290501361So what do we reckon lads? Paradise/whatever your heart desires seems like the boring answer
>>290512263Probably some time fuckery where for them it's like they've just gone for five minutes.
>>290511145I was thinking more "natural" supernatural phenomena like weird gravity and door to other planes vs "malicious" reality warping entities
>>290512735Yeah I can see that now
>>290507466>>290507493kek
>>290501387Thank you for posting.

>>290501126This is my first time noticing the obvious crater. Interesting.
>>290501387>>290501401Thanks for posting.I believe Rourke can do it.
Bump
>>290507466>>290507493>>290507882>>290508865
>>290501387I'm impressed at how well build Rourke and Hannah were for their first chapter. The Door to Summer is highly intriguing, I wonder if it's really a paradise.
>>290507882>>290520846Our hero.
>>290519042Another one.
>>290507844>biting through a rope. Those are some serious chompers.
>>290510576All anomalous media is just Roadside Picnic with a different coat of paint, including S.T.A.L.K.E.R and SCP. Just because these two are pop culture doesn't mean it's what started it all. I'm sure there's bunch of fantasy novels that came before 1972 with some anomaly-like supernatural effects but I think Roadside Picnic is pretty much the most clear-cut definitive entry of the genre that gained traction. S.T.A.L.K.E.R is just the video game version of that novel in the first place, SCP is just a meme website with more focus on anomaly description, and Meaheim is actually just Roadside Picnic except medieval manga version. Which is actually really fucking cool and creative. I love this manga so much, first time I see a fantasy medieval version of this genre. The Door into Summer has crazy good potential.
>>290501300I find it interesting how the author chose to portray the team as having a short chill moment of consulting each other before running off the grid. At first glance it seems the most likely explanation for the failures to explore the Door Into Summer is because there is some kind of siren-like entity on the other side, which creates alluring illusions that draw in people. However the team wasn't brainwashed instantly, they took a moment to discuss things, which is a bit odd. My theory so far is that everyone in the team saw something different compelling them to come closer and that is why they had a moment of confusion to discuss their different perspective, and that is why Hannah said she wanted to check out something without saying what it was, since she wasn't sure -what- she was investigating since they couldn't agree. It should have been a huge red flag that they see different things but maybe the psychic illusion is just that compelling. If the illusion is "the thing you are looking for" it would explain why the second team immediately saw Hannah. The first team wasn't looking for something in particular so they all got hit with strange different illusions? Maybe.
Nikubami thread is up >>290531555
>>290532465Nice.
>>290529608It might all be Roadside Picnic at the end of the day, but I think STALKER and SCP is still a decent way to divide anomalous media. SCP is a very different flavor of it from STALKER and both have already directly influenced plenty of works. Also if you're looking for more fantasy takes on Roadside Picnic I like World End Solte.
>>290537904Solte is great but I stopped reading because of the TERRIBLE release schedule. It was like what, 4 chapters a year?
>>290538200Once every 3 months so sounds about right. If you let the chapters build up it's still a great read but yeah the wait is painful. Think it's on hiatus now too.
>>290538705fucking hellI love Satoshi Mizukami but a release schedule like that(+ fucking hiatuses) just kills me
>>290538752He even complained about his release schedule a bit in one of his afterwards for it, basically he realized that if a late elementary/early middle school kid had started reading it when it first came out that kid would probably be in college or working by now.
