Vegeta was in an interesting spot where he was in the middle in both strength and information.He'd be destroyed by Frieza or his top men in a straight fight, but Gohan and Krillin would be destroyed by him.Gohan and Krillin could track Dragon Balls while Vegeta couldn't, but Vegeta could hide his power level and sense others while Frieza couldn't.
