This volume I am definitely noticing how Rave Master is slowly morphing into Fairy Tail. A lot of the same tropes and plot beats.

Then it may be simpler than it seems, that she is in fact just borrowing magic power from Elie, and giving it some direction while Elie lets her. I used to read Rave in my friend's home so I skipped a couple volume here and thereWhen I read this volume, I can see that this isn't their first encounter, so I thought they have some training montage in between, that's why Haru, Musica, and Ruby got their powerupTurns out it's sloppier than I imagine it to be. Haru got hurts at 6PM and apparently it's still not sunrise yet, so the whole Musica shenanigans and Ruby learning magic took place in half a dayAnd Musica timeline is a bit weird now that I think about it. So he got "killed" ny Doryu, changed into Werewolf, turned back, then went back to Silver Ray, killed Ogre, turned Reina into a spear, THEN went back to Doryu ship, all in the span of one single day
