It isn't a bad addition, but neither do I think it's a particularly great addition. It comes too late to really matter anyway

Kakerou isn't aware of it in the slightest, so they can't possibly allow or help Baku with it during Protoporos. There's also the situation of Lab 2 taking almost 12 hours by itself. Barring the Protoporos time period, I think it's reasonable to assume Baku has both snacking Kariume and Medicine Kariume, and Kaji's perspective doesn't differentiate it when he gets probed by the surgeon guy later
