His desire for perfection is so extreme he created the Ego, if he ever makes a mistake. Humans can make mistakes, and Kakerou is meant to be perfect, thus he must be an Alien as they are not human. If you make a mistake, just forget it ever happened and start from 0 again. Its why the callback to the Aliens from space gag from the mine tunnel was so good.
