I actually really liked Shirley, and if it weren’t for the backstory and secrets of Lelouch Lamperouge as Lelouch vi Britannia and Zero, I think she had a realistic chance with him. She never had an issue with the Japanese maid who cared for his crippled, blind sister, and didn’t judge them despite society’s prejudice. Shirley genuinely liked Lelouch for who he was, not just because he was attractive like some of the other girls. Honestly, if it weren’t for his baggage and if he desire for a normal life, I think she could have had a real shot with him.
