The fact is, the original super was coasting on nostalgia. It was the big return of one of the most famous anime of all time. That carried it over the finish line (and barely, since it was cancelled). Over ten years later there is much better anime to watch. Nobody is nostalgic for a show that was a ratings and critical flop and was absolutely terrible for 90% of its run. The nostalgia is gone, the competition is better, and super is the same bland old story it always was. People are realizing how terrible shitper is, and always was.
