I currently rewatching the anime and am at the part Ichigo gets destroyed by Ulquiorra and my god Nel, Pesche and Dondo are so goddamn annoying. The crying, the complaining and the lame jokes make light of the series. I couldn't even take Uryu vs Cirucci Sanderwicci. Chad got to do something, Urahara snuck in his own fuck you to Yhwach and that no name shinigami grunt actually has a narrative purpose and motif behind him. Hopefully they'll expand a bit more on Yhwach's last words to Ichigo instead of just having Aizen spell things out from his new chair.

Ending was better than the manga but it was way too busy. It was very Avengers coded, especially with the random comedy duo being a pivotal part of beating the big bad. For a series built on overexplaining everything they explained next to nothing and just sent everything and hoped people would understand. BLUD Chains...
Bleach spent its entire run being a major power levels wank series, to the point where enough Reiatsu outright countered and negated attacks and abilities. This final team effort doesn't have cohesion with the rest of the story as a result. The time probably could have been spent giving Ichigo and Uryu more of a fight against Bach to at least have some consistency and make Ichigo feel like he truly was the only one qualified to land the final attack on Bach, rather than it feeling incidental to him being the main character. Other characters might have cut through Bach without him being able to attempt destroying their weapon, or they could have killed him with their bare hands, etc. Also, if Bach has broken Ichigo's sword already, how did he never tell that he was breaking both a bizarre sheath and the actual sword within it? Why did the trajectory of the slash not change a bit after the break so as to not go right into Bach's hand again if he could block it?This felt like a lot of flash that instead needed more time and effort on the substance. Also, while Mimihagi's altered role for the anime could maybe explain some part of the victory, it only exists to defeat a different dimension Bach who didn't exist in the manga anyway. As for the Hueco Mundo fight, there's no real answer for that part at all, since the Hollow stuff has been rendered irrelevant by this point due to the mess of powers Bach has, and the "reiatsu levels lol" that Kubo established throughout the series should have crushed those guys like Yamamoto's reiatsu crushing Nanao.Also, Uryu's mysterious survival didn't get explained here at all? That had better be a front-and-center moment between Ryuken and Uryu in the finale, because otherwise the anime might as well have not changed anything. Speaking of which, why did the dads do nothing? That's absurd. Ryuken at least delivered the arrow, but Isshin did jack. If this is a grand finale, don't have two relevant characters sit out!
